We always knew Clavell's is the best but now, it's official. They are the Winners of the Taste of Dorset Awards 2013 and it is well deserved. We had another delicious meal at lunchtime, fresh tasty food, friendly welcome, and then purchased some fresh meat from the chiller cabinet to enjoy at home. Definitely our favourite lunch venue.

My friend and I had an evening meal here on a Saturday night. Although the place was busy, the staff were more than able to cope and never looked stressed or attempted to rush the diners. Whoever the chef is, he certainly knows how to cook. We both had duck as the main course and it was so tender. The accompanying vegetables were just right. As for the sweets, oooooh! So difficult to decide.
This restaurant has such a nice atmosphere and is well worth a visit. If you are thinking about it, don't hesitate.

On many occasions we have driven past this very inviting looking little cafe and have often said that we really must try it one day. Well today was the day and we now wish that we had stopped here much sooner. What a lovely bight and airy little place with a nice traditional country feel about it. There was a great selection on the menu for both meat eaters (all meats sourced locally) and dishes for vegetarians too. Great portions and lovely presentation. Hubby had a huge burger with lovely chips and a salad and I had a Brie and cranberry baguette served warm with chips and a salad we then shared a cream tea afterwards which was one of the nicest I've ever had. The service was excellent and the staff very pleasant and friendly.... We cannot wait to return. :)

Kimmeridge should not only be noted for its picturesque location and lovely old buildings, but also for a great licenced café and restaurant, Clavell’s. Whilst on a walk in the area my wife and I stopped off for coffee, which I might say was a great cup. After a rather wet and dismal walk we returned to Clavell’s for a late lunch (3.45). Although, due to a fall off in custom on such a miserable day they had shut the kitchen early, there was absolutely no problem at all in catering for our request for hot food. My wife had a generous portion of vegetable tagine, whilst I had an equally generous portion of local beef and chorizo chilli. There is a pleasant seating area outside, however on this occasion due to the weather we sat inside which is clean, bright and welcoming. The service is good and the staff are very pleasant.

Using a buy one get one free main meal at lunch time voucher my husband & I visited here to mark our anniversary. Place was moderately busy for a Tuesday lunch time, don't know how many people were using vouchers? Our food was beautiffully presented by a chirpy waitress, we were pleased to find it tasted as good as it looked. Lovely selection of deserts to choose from & hubby had a pint of "Tally Ho" (Dorset beer), it was lovely. We'll return again.
