“Excellent place for a quiet getaway”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 via mobile

The resort was located far away from the city centre, important tips: free shuttle bus from resort to city at 11am, from city to resort at 5pm. The pick up point in the city is at the McDonald's next to Le Meridien hotel. I got the wrong information from a review, and thought the pick up point is inside the le meridian hotel... It was very embarrassed when I was told there was never a pickup point there...
Despite the location the resort is quite good. Very quiet and very beautiful, Perfect place for a getaway. For food the only choice is the restaurant inside the resort because you will not able to find anything outside in walking distance. The breakfast was very good, a whole range of food.
It was beautifully designed,it was a shame that some facilities were not well maintained.
My stay was overall a pleasant one.

Stayed in a villa which was quite remarkable. The dining was adequate, but well priced. The Resort itself whilst generally of a fair standard, was in need of some greater attention to detail. The staff on reception whilst helpful, were not very forthcoming. The massage, pools and sunbathing areas were all excellent.

Room Tip: Opt for a villa option if possible.

We have only just come back from this wonderful place. We wanted somewhere to have a quiet reflectful time after 6 weeks on the road. This is It! Definitely!. This place is very Thai, very quiet, very beautiful and the scenery is spectacular. We were given an upgrade to a pool villa (they had forgotten to pick us up from the airport and we had to take a taxi, mind you at 1/2 the cost!). And what a villa it was. It had a huge huge room with separate bathroom and spa (better than an ensuite). An enormous bed big enough for 4 people. A personal infinity pool, balcony with table and chairs, unbelievable. We were literally gobsmacked.
The only thing was, the front door was not built for Thai people. My husband and I could only get through the door sideways. Funny really.

The service, as you would expect in a proper Thai hotel, was impeccable. The staff did not speak a lot of English, but they smiled a lot and got to know our habits pretty quickly. At the first breakfast we found the hotel mainly catered for Asian tastes, but no worries, the next day there was bacon and yoghurt. Just what we wanted.
There was a gentleman called Mr Charlie who is the General Manager and he made sure we were happy. His English was good. We had a small incident and he immediately rectified it and offered us a free dinner. It was solved very quickly and correctly.
The place could do with a lick of paint, although the gardens were beautiful.
The spa is wonderful, my husband still raves about the massages.

Room Tip: We had Pool Villa 1101 (this was an upgrade from the room we booked) and it was extremely quiet even...

The resort location settings makes we feel at home where everything you ask for is there and more. A breathtaking view with large pool is what is needed to feel relaxed.
Very personalized service and the staff will make their best to meet up our requests and expectations with a simple smile and a great heart, just a few thing that Restaurant serve our food very delay after we order 30 minutes.

We were enjoin our breakfast with Mr.Charles who was chat with us in early morning, here also have organic vegetable farm as we are organic's lover that is amazing for us. Thank you Mr.Charles for your recommended next trip that we will be back to Chiang Mai and we will stay at Ginger Bread Home stay that is same chain of Panviman Chiang Mai, we love to stay that as we like organic farm and close to nature.

At night the quite nature and the tropical warmth invites you to a wonderful walk in between the villas down to the lobby with night star view on earth.

We will back again..... see you at Ginger Bread Home Stay a sister of Panviman Chiangmai Mai.

This is a very beautiful place to relax for a few days. We were there in mid June, low season, and basically had the whole resort to ourselves. Would like to visit in high season to see it full. The food was superb, the staff very good. Great having the golf carts to haul you up and down the slopes....

Thanks to AsiaRooms, we got 2 rooms with a spectacular mountain view. The rooms are well furnished with good amenities. However, there was only a small bottle of shower gel for the shower and there was no second bottle left near the tub even though I had written a note to request for such. Housekeeping can definitely be improved. Things took a long time to come and we had to call three times before the housekeeper gave us all that we needed. She brought toilet paper when we asked for tissue paper and kept us waiting for a good 30 minutes until a second call to the front desk. The fruit bowls should be removed/replaced daily instead of leaving them in the room. Panviman has the hardware but I believe staff training and language skills can improve service levels. We were told that anything more than the daily 2 bottles of water is chargeable. Perhaps the management may want to consider including water into the room charges as it left a rather bad taste in the mouth to be told of the additional charge; having just been to another resort in the city that did not have this restriction. On the plus side, the free wifi everywhere is a boon to city folks like us. The frontline staff especially those driving the buggy who also doubled up as baggage handlers were friendly and polite. Overall a wonderful experience for anyone who likes the mountains and does not mind the steep slopes and going everywhere in a buggy.
