Stayed at Leila Playa last summer and had a great holiday.
The location is perfect and sitting on our patio with the sea less than 30 metres away was breathtaking. Close to everything but very peaceful.
Apartmsnt was large, clean and well equipped.

My husband, myself, our adult son, his girlfriend, and our adult daughter stayed here. We ranged in age from 23 to 53 and we all got had a great time. The entertainment was good, we participated in many of the nightly events and had a great time. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The apartment was amazing, clean and spacious. The service was amazing!

Using the RCI timeshare exchange this has to be the best resort I have stayed in. It is great for young children and younger teenagers. This is little happening at night but if you have a car you are in a great location to vist much of this region, there are plenty of places withi waking distance and the beach and pool are fine to relax on quiet days.

My husband & 14 year old daughter stayed here for 3 weeks in July 2010. We needed a break and with the help of RCI found Leila Playa. We were aware that it was small compared to Dona Lola (sister hotel 15min walk away) we went to see DL and could not wait to get back to our little safe, secure haven.

I had read on TA about block C being close to the road, on arrival we were allocated an apt in block C ! Then add to that, that I had a vision of a pretty white villa as seen on the MacDonald Leila Playa website, but the white villas are blocks A & B, Block C is a different type as in the photo. After a night or two inside the apt we were happy with the view and the size of it so settled in. There is noise from the traffic but not unbearable. The apt has everything supplied that you would need, even down to Fly Spray !

The laundry was changed twice a week, the housekeeping office is near block C that created a bit of a noise some mornings with the cleaners arriving and deliveries.

There is entertainment approx 4 nights per week. Children have organised activities with Eli, I think everyday. Because numbers are small the children get lots of attention from Eli who is a very pleasant/cheerful lady. The pool area is ample and there are shaded areas for us that are sun not worshippers!

Staff at Leila Playa are friendly and will help you with any queries! Other guests we spoke to have been going there for up to 20 years, they are owners and just love it. Food is very good and not over priced for what you get. You can pay as you go along or put it on your room and settle at end of week, electric is charged as used so watch the air con!

There is a Lidl, Chemist, Supersol etc across the road. Also ATMs and Internet cafe. We did not want the hassle of a car so transport to Marbella or where ever was no problem by bus. The bus stop is at the gate, a few nights we bused it to Fuengirola then went by train to other towns. On arrival at Malaga airport we got the train into Fuengirola €3.00pp approx then a taxi to Calahonda €25.00. For drivers the exit from the hotel is onto a busy road but like anywhere you just have to sit and wait for a break in the traffic.

Cabopino, a beautiful little harbour with lovely restaurants is only a short walk away, it is easy enough to walk along the path at the side of the barriers on the main road, you can walk to it also along the beach.

BE AWARE of pickpockets, my husband almost had his wallet taken one evening at the train station by a man of about 60. Our daughter saw him and screamed, as we passed through the bus station and train station over the rest of our holiday unfortunately he was a permanent fixture scanning the crowds.

I hope this is helpful to you-I was keen to write a more recent visit to Leila Playa

I haven't stayed at Leila Playa for a couple of years now but I have been going every year since I was 6. I think it's lovely with the rroms being recently refurbished and a fantastic atmosphere. Close to the beach and Marbella dn Fuengirola but away from too much hussle. The grounds are beautiful and the food is lovely if slightly expensive. Close to shops too. The kitchens are perfectly equipped and probably better than most peoples at home!! Definately a home from home and would recommend. Spent may evening on the beach with friends and feel perfectly safe.

We have just returned from the Leila Playa having had a great and very relaxing holiday. We had an apartment right by the beach. It was lovely to sit outside on the terrace directly opposite the sea (which was only a matter of feet away). The pool area is pretty and the pool is a wonderful temperature so the kids can play in it all day. It was very calm and not very crowded by the pool, which was amazing considering it was half term. All the kids played together nicely and the people were all very friendly. There is an activity programme every day which is quite low key but sufficient. The restaurant is nicely situated and the lunchtime menu is reasonablhy priced. The evening menu is a bit pricey and not great quality.
The apartment itself is in need of updating. It was big but not very smart.
The staff were lovely and very helpful and accommodating.
We would definitely return.
