At the end of May we attended a 60th Birthday party at their Holiday house in Greenwell Point. We chose to stay at The Boardwalks as it was closest. We arrived at 4pm , leaving our belongings inside and went to the party. We returned at 11pm ,very cold. (7 degrees) . My husband and I realized the thin doona and cheap blanket were not going to warm us up and were dismayed to find the only heating was from a tiny fan heater. I decided after a long day to have a shower before bed only to discover there was no hot water. My husband meantime put his clothes and medication in the 2nd bedroom and shut the door which locked itself from the inside . None of the 3 keys opened this door. After a less than pleasant night we rang the manager and the caretaker arrived ,turned on the hot water and forced open the door so my husband could take his medication. Despite repeated phone calls to the manager no apology was issued and we were accused of turning off the hot water. As a 60-something woman with arthritis I certainly did not want a freezing cold shower. We noticed no air conditioning or even a fan, so Summer must be equally uncomfortable. We own several rental properties and would be ashamed to rent such an inadequate premises. We paid $269.50 for one night's accommodation plus a $200 bond. Not surprised we were the only people silly enough to stay there that Saturday .
