We attended this pub as a large party in fancy dress. The food was excellent and the music and dancing on tables was great fun. Top night

We visited this pub on 7 August 2014, arriving about 1.20pm. The pub was busy but it was clear many patrons were leaving. We found a table and ordered lunch, nothing special - lasagne & the steak and ale pie. That was about 1.30pm. We finally got our food at 2.40pm!!!!

I would like to say it was worth waiting for but it was less than average, in fact they must have had a special chip rationing day.

Additionally there were only two draught beers on offer apart from the usual mass produced rubbish. This is not a pub for the real ale drinker. Poor food, poor beer and a long wait - not a good lunch experience.

6 Aug 2014 - Just back from lunch at the Folly Inn, Whippingham, Isle of Wight - my first meal there since the new management. And it will be my last! Which is sad, considering it is my nearest pub and I've been a frequent visitor in the past. I have no complaint with the service, but I came away hungry - my main course, costing £10.49, consisted of a small portion of pasta garnished with a spoonful of peas, 2 asparagus spears and 6 little bite-size bits of chicken. Very poor value for money.

Great waterside location - be careful of the bumps in the access road & you will be fine.
Please, please go here instead of eating @ Osborne House.........see my review on this point!
See other reviews - this is one popular pub with a brilliant location, widely advertised & on the yachting crowd horizon so expect queues.
We arrived & ordered just before 1:30 & then it got a bit crazy. The food was good & not as overpriced as you might imagine.
Please don't sit anywhere near the food till or you will have people over your shoulder whilst eating which is not my idea of fun.
I have visited before & will be back.
We visited on Saturday just gone, which is the 1st weekend of Cowes Week, so we expected it to be busy & arrived early, just before the mad rush.
