“Best stay ever!”

My boyfriend and I took advantage of the LivingSocial deal as a Christmas present to each other, and this Inn far exceeded our expectations. The room was lovely, and much bigger than I would have thought it would be for an inn (I believe we had the upgraded room). The in-room fireplace made for a very cozy time. Every detail was thought of, from the details in the decor, to the printed report of the weather each morning with our breakfast (very nice since we did not want to check our phones during our stay). I almost booked a different inn because of some of the negative reviews regarding "rude owners". I am very glad that I didn't. I did not experience any "rudeness". We had just enough attention from the staff, and not too much. Sometimes at small inn's I feel a tad smothered by the owners - not at the Notchland. I have traveled all over the world and this was one of, if not my best experience at any inn or hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Hancock room and we loved it. A fireplace, small Jacuzzi tub, separate living room...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Notchland in January- our second trip to the Inn which has become an annual tradition. The Inn is wonderful. We loved our room- with a jacuzzi and fireplace. Breakfast is great- especially the French Toast. And, the dinner is delicious as well. The Inn is right around the corner from great skiing- A perfect relaxing winter get away!

We booked Notchlands elopement package for 12/28/13. Their package covers every aspect of an intimate wedding ceremony. Ed did a terrific job making our moment unique and memorable (including some great pictures! Thank you Les!) Their service is personalized and they delivered a supreme experience for us. We felt like home and surrounded by caring people. During our stay we had some snow and they even cleaned our car!

The only reason we are giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the heating system in our room (can't say about the rest of the house) was very loud and clicking throughout the night which interrupted our sleep a few times each night. This property was built in the 1700s so some technical issues like that might be inevitable. The place itself is beautiful otherwise.

One more thing: the closest urban area is about 30 minutes away, if you are not into skiing you should plan ahead for some activities you might be interested while staying there.

The Notchland Inn is our "go to" B&B in the white mountains of NH. We just came back from spending our second Xmas there and our 8th trip overall.

Ed & Les and there entire staff attend to your every whim starting from your arrival until the second you leave. The Inn is a granite mansion built by an eccentric man named Bemis in the 1800‘s. It boasts 11 chimneys. Every room no matter size or grandness has a wood burning fireplace stocked with paper, kindling, and logs. Rooms range from basic to elegant suites that include sitting areas and bathtubs the size of hot tubs.

Breakfast is included and is literally whatever you want. Just order it and the. If you want more, order more!

Dinner is extra and is quite an event. Biscuits and soup, appetizer, main course, salad, and dessert are all included in their five course-2 hour event.

All the rooms are named after local peaks and include 8 rooms, 5 suites and two cottages.

We return time and time again as do others. In fact during our most recent stay, a guest was on her 31st visit!

Room Tip: Main building room: kinsman or Evans Cottages: both are excellent!

Weekend stay w/my daughter over Thanksgiving weekend to kick off our holiday shopping in North Conway. The Inn has no rival from an architectural standpoint, there is none like it in the area and the innkeepers are most gracious, charming, witting an above all accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and there are no shortage of outdoor pursuits to be had right outside the door. Gypsy, the newest 4-legged addition to the Notchland family does an outstanding job of making you feel welcome from the minute you step through the door. There are many lovely inns in the surrounding areas but this one is the best in my opinion.

Room Tip: There are really no bad rooms here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn. We're both vegetarians and the food was amazing (both breakfast and dinner). The staff were quite helpful in planning our day's hiking activities, and the surrounding countryside is wonderful.

My husband and I just spent the weekend at this beautiful inn. The innkeepers, Ed and Les are so friendly, sweet and at times comical! We were greeted by Adam, who was extremely nice, who gave us a tour and walked us to our cottage. We stayed in the Willard cottage, which was perfect, large 2 person tub, deck overlooking the property, privacy, and best part the fireplace. So nice to sit with a cup of tea and read in front of. Breakfast was delicious, with many choices, they even offer seconds, dinner was a five course meal, served in a beautiful setting, food again delicious and again seconds offered on dessert! Honestly, all your needs are met at this Inn, if you are visiting and want a relaxing, friendly, romantic, comfortable, accommodating place .....need I go on... do yourself a favor and stay here!!

Room Tip: Highly recommend the cottages!
