Owner description: Hillier Creek Estates winery is located in scenic Prince Edward County, Ontario's latest designated wine region. After being in development for over nine years, we opened our doors to the public for the first time in spring of 2010.Our vineyards span twenty-five acres, growing Pinot Noir, Gamay, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Vidal. The centerpiece of our property, a beautifully restored 160 year old barn transformed into our winery, tasting room, and retail store, is an eye catching piece of county history directly visible from Loyalist Parkway (Highway 33). We invite you to tour our vineyards and winery and learn about our grape growing and wine making process - or simply come and enjoy a glass of wine in either the cozy atmosphere of our tasting room, or out on our sunny patio overlooking the vineyards. With advance notice, we are happy to accommodate large tour groups and bus tours. Our summer hours are 11 am - 6 pm, 7 days a week May through October.

“Real Italian Type Pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2012

My partner and I went for lunch at this winery on Sunday. Although it was very busy and the dining arrea is small we were able to find a table after a short 5 minute wait. The dining area is outside, under a pergola behind the tasting room, with a view of the vineyard. They are dog friendly and have a big dish of water available for furry friends. They also have a wood fired outdoor pizza oven. We both ordered the polo pizza, chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers and mozerella cheese and it was delicious. Typical Italian pizza does not have an abundance of toppings or cheese. Having lived in Italy for 3 months last year, I have eaten many authentic italian pizzas, and this place made it just right. The taste brought me right back to Tuscany, the ingredients were fresh and I was able to taste each and every morsel. Nothing was overpowering. The mozerella cheese was fresh and cut into thin rounds placed sparingly on the pizza. The crust is very thin and toasted just right on the bottom making it a little crisp but not dry. The suggested red wine paired with it was perfect as well.
Even though they were very busy and we had to wait awhile for our food, it was well worth it and was an enjoyable experience. Our server was very nice and attentive to us, apologizing for the wait and refilling our water glasses before we could even ask.
I would highly recomment this Winery and suggest that if you are looking for an authentic italian taste, try the pizza, you will not be disappointed.

“Beautiful property”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2012

We arrived and were greeted and offered all the information we wanted. The owner gave us a great history of the building and how things came together. It was very interesting. The property is really an oasis and very relaxing. They only had 3 wines for tasting, which was disappointing. We did purchase one but neither of us was crazy about it. Too bad there isn't a larger selection of wines. The place itself is well designed and it was very nice to be there. Friendly and inviting, its worth the visit but don't get your hopes up about the wines.
