“Lovely B&B”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

We stayed at Church Farm at the beginning of the Easter holidays for 4 days in the family room inside the farmhouse. Marian was a lovely hostess and the breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day! There was a very friendly atmosphere around the farm and we met other guests who have been returning regularly for the last 20 years. Very comfortable and clean room. Lovely area with panoramic views. We were fortunate to have very good weather and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Marian was also very helpful in suggesting places to eat and visit.

I stayed in the stable block, which is in desperate need of refurbishment. (felt like I was in the 70's) Sheets had marks on them. Cheap bedding, hideous. Room really needed a good clean. Breakfast was average. Good thing - it did have a microwave in the room, which was useful a couple of nights. Would not recommend.

Wanting some rural places to stay this was our first stop. Rooms are arranged in a line a bit like a motel or perhaps stables! Comfortable bed though as the room was tight one of us had to climb over the other. It was clean and adequate, no frills. We enjoyed a full breakfast which was great and the dining room is very pleasant. Also enjoyed visiting the lambs. The place seems to have a variety of accommodation with more building in progress but seems a bit haphazard in layout and access. A welcoming and adequate place at a good price.

I have stayed at Church Farm a couple of times, both times as a solo traveller. I travel to the area with my dogs. My room was in the stable block.
It is a delight to have a full English breakfast. Previous reviews mentioned small plates, I would disagree. Large plate fully loaded with tasty food. Very friendly owners. I was allowed to walk my dogs on their land, and they could not have been more helpful.
I would happily stay again should I attend another event in the area.

We recently stayed at Church Farm for the second time.
We go to the open meeting at Cheltenham and have found our perfect base. Marian and Steve are friendly and welcoming without being at all intrusive, the rooms are cosy, spotlessly clean and
tidy and thoughtfully provided with everything you could possibly need and the breakfasts are great, from the choice of cereals to the home cooked full English.
Dorsington is a quiet, picturesque village and yet there are a variety of pubs and restaurants within easy reach.
We hope to return soon.

Spent a night here with family. The rooms were ok, clean and tidy. Lots of extras including a microwave, fridge and kettle. Our bed was hard as we're the pillows and decor a little old fashioned. Host Marion very friendly, breakfast lovely. A great value farm stay if you are on a budget.

Marion was probably the best host we stayed with whilst we traipsed around the lovely UK. She welcomed us and we certainly felt more like family friends than paying guests. location is perfect for Shakespeare and Warwick castle. The accommodation is great -we used one family room that was spacious enough for the 4 people in it and also had a second room in the house that was a bit smaller, but still more than adequate. The breakfast was served in a lovely dining room and it was substantial to say the least. We did not need lunch at all! Marion recommended a great little pub for us to dine at ( separate review on Masons arms) and it was just what we had asked for. Steve chatted to hubby about the running of the farm and all the equipment and animals making hubby's day. But without question, what made this choice stand out from any other place we stayed was having our two 9 yr old boys asked to 'help out' on the farm by herding sheep to a new field. They LOVED it and it remains one of the highlights of their trips. Knowing what matters to your guests is what takes the good to the exceptional. Thanks Marion and family. Hope we are lucky enough to stay with you again.
