Easy walk to a beautiful waterfall, a definite must see along the Catlins. Even in cold wet weather this was well worth it

Only a short walk from the road, you can find a stunning waterfall. Do it after a rain and it is even more impressive.

The walk to the falls is easy and comfortable. The reward is the falls, which make for good photography.

Traveling through the Catlins knew the Purakanui Falls were a must stop. Starting the short walk on a path through the rainforest the first thing one notices is the sound of rushing water, cross a small bridge over the water feeding the falls and continue the path to the Falls; an amazing sight. Glad I was able to experience its beauty.
