We stayed for two nights in September 2012. The wildflowers were spectacular and the setting was glorious. Being located close to Perth was a plus. I was dissappointed that it was impossible to open the French Doors leading off the living room. When I asked for a key to unlock the doors I was advised that due to damage by guests in the past they had decided to permanently lock these doors. The windows were also locked so the only fresh air was via the front door that didn't have any insect screens. There was air-conditioning but who wants to go to a rural retreat and then not get any fresh air in the house? We were self catering and for the price the facilities for this were poor. Kitchen equipment was sparse eg no serving bowls at all. There was a microwave but no stove or cook top. There was a community Gas BBQ. It is likely that many staying here go to the Loose Box Restaurant for dinner. Transport is provided by the Chalets to and from the Loose Box. If this is the reason for your stay it is good value because accommodation at the Loose Box is so expensive but if you want a quiet week-end get away close to Perth it is an expensive option. The rooms were clean but basic eg there was no reading light in the second bedroom.
