“Lovely weekend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2012

We were here for two nights. Very helpful & obliging staff made this hotel a delight to stay in. Food was organised for us on request outside 'normal' chef's hours - it's lovely food here, fresh & beautifully cooked. Dan's scrambled eggs for breakfast are sooo delicious, (as is the rest of it).
The rooms are well furnished, spotless & provide all you need - comfy bed, hot drinks n biscuits tray and modern bathrooms with lovely toiletries and fluffy towels.
We had a room at the front on the road side, but this did not disturb our sleep even though the window was open.
There's a bus stop next to the hotel, so it's easy to get out & about without taking your car. there is a huge car park at the hotel so no worries there either.
We would be happy to stay here again, and indeed hope to do so later this year.

Stopped at blue bell inn for friends 50th, the Hotel was immaculate as where the rooms. Had a bar snack on arrival from the 2 for £10.00 menu and was freshly cooked though portions were on the small side(Though what do you want for 2 for £10.00) evening meal and breakfast were lovely and fresh and well cooked. The staff could not do enough to help and were very friendly. The photos on the web site are an accurate picture of the Hotel and condition as it is now(not taken ten years ago). Stopped in a lot off supposed 4 & 5 star Hotels that fall well short, not sure of the rating of this Hotel but is one off the nicest we have been to. Gary. H

Room Tip: Stopped in superier rooms so could not comment on standard

We spent just one night at the Blue Bell as part of a 30th birthday celebration for my niece. First impressions were excellent, the hotel had such a lovely atmosphere. Although I have given five well deserved stars, I will begin with a couple of negative comments and then conclude with more positive comments. My daughter suggested I knock off a star because of the unsmiling and unhelpful waitress serving breakfast, the one with the long reddish hair. We were all agreed that the young man who was also serving breakfasts is a gem, he was delightful, pleasant with a lovely smile and couldn't do enough for us. My other poinnt is that my husband and I are vegetarian and thought it interesting that when we declined the meat we were not offered an alternative or an extra egg, or extra beans or mushrooms, therefore our breakfast looked spartan. I particularly appreciated the cloth napkins, softened butter and ample ketchup.

The party last night was great. Chris and his team were very friendly and helpful; the room and bathroom were immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated and furnished. The beds were very comfortable and the room warm and cosy. At breakfast we all discussed last night's proceedings and everyone without exception had nothing but praise for the hotel, the staff and Chris the manager. I cannot fault the standard of this hotel, we were part of a large family group and we were all agreed that the Blue Bell Hotel is a credit to the area.

Room Tip: Hotel is on a main road apparently it is possible to book a quieter room at the back. We were happy...

Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Blue Bell Hotel, what a fantastic place! Staff very welcoming, room lovely and clean, food very good, especially the cooked to order breakfast. The tv remote in our room didn't work and it was sorted immediately. The only 'down' thing was the size of the bathroom but we coped with that. I believe this hotel has just been newly re opened and I hope it does really well - it certainly deserves to!

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a superior room, the standard rooms are at the front of the hotel very close to th...

Stayed here for one night on business and was very impressed, so much so when we moved this summer to Yorkshire we returned to use the restaurant, which is excellent.
Pleasant staff and surroundings.
