“Underground Prison”
Reviewed 4 December 2013

This is nothing. Waste of time. It is just like our basement parking in apartments. This used to be an underground prison during the British rule but nothing to see there now.

“Britishers & Anti state people's prison ...”
Reviewed 3 May 2013 via mobile

Highly protected dungeon where British , anti India persons were held ... There was powerful canon battery above named Sultan Battery , several powerful canons were fired from here continuously towards the enemies ... It's great military strategy of that era confusing enemies about the jail location , also masjid built by Tippu , Famous Ranganathaswamy Temple , Tippu palace ruins , Gumbaz , Tippu summer palace , Fort Flag Staff Post , Watch Towers built at several places of fort , Secret exits of fort , British soldiers graveyard , also fort structure is worth watching the way it's built strongly ... Interesting place for history lovers ...

“must visit”
Reviewed 19 December 2012

Basically a place designed to detain prisoners of war . Named after an English officer Capt. Bailey who was captured and imprisoned in the dungeon during a war. There are stones fixed on the walls where prisoners are chained .
A cannon was knocked off from the rampart during a seige and rolled through the roof lies at the floor of the dungeon. Its a tourist attraction.
Charlie's dungeon is located very close Tipu's Lal mahal palace and watergate

“Nothing exciting”
Reviewed 1 October 2012

This dungeon is not that great. There are concrete structures to which the captured British soldiers were tied to. There is also a entry for the river water to enter. An underground tunnel through which Tipu used to visit this dungeon was almost in rubbles.
