We stayed for 2 days at the Telunas Beach resort and had an absolutely wonderful time. The experience started with our interactions with our host, Mike, for reservations. He was extremely helpful and was able to give us personalized attention to ensure everything was smooth and trouble-free. Getting there involved a 2-hour boat ride meandering between the Riau islands which was really great. Eric our host at the resort along with all the other staff was amazing and always available for anything we might need. The setting of the resort is wonderful with something for everyone - for us a lot of privacy, quiet and peace. Food was good and accomodation was very comfortable and clean. We visited in a group of seven (three couples and a friend) and all of us had a great time.

The resort is situated on stilts on the water and you can even look down at the ocean through the rafters from your cottage. It is very picturesque. There is a pier that leads to the resort from the beach and ends in a jetty which is a great place for an impromtu dive into the ocean! The resort is situated in a cove and so has very calm and clear waters just great for a swim or to laze around. We played volleyball, went snorkeling to see the coral reefs, took their canoe for a ride and even had a bon-fire organized for us. Some of the group went off on a half-day hiking tour of the island.

It is difficult for me to find anything bad to say about the place - I think the folks at Telunas have gone to great effort to make sure everything is in order for a great vacation. Possibly the only thing I can think of is that the pull-cord on our fan in our room was loose and would come off when we wanted to switch it on or off.

The great thing about the place is that it is still unspoilt by hordes of tourists and I certainly hope it remains so! Overall, I would rate Telunas very highly and we had one of our best vacations ever and would and have recommended it to most everyone!

Our group stayed at Telunas for a total of about 15 days and it was amazing! It's close enough to get there by a scenic boat ride but certainly far enough away from the normal hustle-and-bustle to make you totally relaxed! The resort is very cleverly engineered- built over the water about 100 meters from the shore so the bugs and other land-dwelling pests aren't even an issue. Plus you get the amazing breezes off the ocean due to the design of the rooms - the wind can come up and over the walls and cool you down. Yet you stay dry in the rain because the roofs are built so well - amazing! We found the meeting room and dining room to be perfect places for business or relaxing. The food is top-notch and healthy and there is always something to do around the resort. Some of the the guided activites we did were a nearby jungle hike with a waterfall at the end, boating, and scuba diving. We also made use of the available boats to paddle around the bay. Some other fun things were swimming in the warm ocean, playing volleyball on the sand court built near the shore, or playing catch on the expansive pristine white beaches. If you have a chance to go to this place, you won't regret it! Great staff, comfy rooms, fantastic food, and so much fun stuff to do it makes the relaxing all the better! The pictures are either of the resort or ones taken while on it.

There are few places on earth that have taken my breath away like Telunas Beach. Everything from getting off the boat and being greeted by warm staff to strolling the clean beaches, I really felt like I had discovered paradise. On the other hand I loved that I had the opportunity to meet different people from various islands and learn about their fascinating culture. My time at Telunas Beach was certainly an experience that I will never forget.

Beautiful, comfortable, and secluded. I loved my stay at Telunas Beach. It is paradise out on the water. I also enjoyed the simplistic feel and the non-hurry relaxed atmosphere. The food was wonderful and the staff were very helpful! I would recommend it to anyone!

Two hours by powerboat from Batam, Indonesia (which is itself just a 45 minute ferry boat ride from Singapore), and there you are in tropical seclusion. Situated perfectly in a small bay with a thousand yards of white sand beach, a mountain behind it on the property complete with a natural fresh water stream, Telunas Beach is a brand new resort facility (this is the first full season of operation for its three proprietors, Brad, Eric & Mike). Thatch-roofed buildings clustered a hundred yards offshore connect to the land by a double-railed walkway. A dining facility (with professional chef), fishing platform, meeting rooms, sleeping facilities and expansive sundecks make up the mini-village on stilts.

The guys will help you decide how to spent your time . . . with plenty of options right there on site (jungle trekking, ropes course, snorkeling in the bay) or visits to an expanding number of neighboring islands. That was my choice, "ethno-touring," staying overnight in homes at two different locations during my 10-day visit (with a translator provided, of course). It was great meeting the friendly locals, but also helpful to get back to those new showers, clean sheets and western food service at Telunas.

What's not to like about the climate, the setting, the people, the pace, the price? This latest was my third visit, and it won't be my last. You're sure to feel the same way!

My wife and I spent a week at Telunas Beach and absolutely loved it. The staff was friendly, the food was outstanding, the setting was gorgeous, and the facilities were ideal for a rustic resort. We felt as if each day gained us a week's worth of relaxation. We highly recommend Telunas to anyone desiring a great getaway!
