I have been many times to Sai Mantra and often shocked why the place is as quiet as it is weekdays apart from the relative quietness of Bletchley high street compared to Milton Keynes generally. It's well worth the drive if you live a little far and parking extremely easy free or plain cheap.
The lunch time buffet excels in quality if not quantity. Wonderful exotic flavours cooked with passion for those seeking authentic Asian food not bland supermarket chicken fillet offerings.
This is proper home made food with meat on the bone as it should be and no skimping on ingredients.
There are only 5 or 6 dishes on the buffet but I have to say they are usually very varied in terms spicy flavours and normally only one meat dish.
To my thinking and as a vegetarian/vegan they are utterly fragrant and mouthwatering compared to most Indian restaurants.
In addition customers are usual offered complimentary freshly baked naan bread as well as fiery chutney and poppadoms and fairly simple salf and yoghurt based dressings.
The restaurant surroundings are modern and clean rather than romantic; it's the food that makes this place.
The staff are humble, friendly and sincere in an Asian family kind of way. One other commentator suggested slow service. Get a life I say! These people work long hours for peanuts. At these remarkably good prices, an unlimited buffet to fill the most ambitious appetite is a steal at £4.95. Compared to the sad equivalent in any of big chain and fast food offerings for this kind of outlay this restaurant is heaven. This place makes nandos look a rip off!
This is now my favourite restaurant in Milton Keynes. I recommend this little place for spice addicts not for the faint hearted reared on sausage and nuggets.
It's ridiculously good value too! If this place were in London it would be stampeded.
