“Just perfect”
Reviewed 10 December 2017 for a stay in December 2017

Can’t explain how amazing the place is. It was just the perfect place for my fiancé and I to stay for a week. Cozy warm with plenty to do in the area.
Will definitely go back for sure!

“A most beautiful cabin in an idyllic location ”

We had a very comfortable and most enjoyable three night break at Milk Wood.
The facilities and cabin were excellent and extremely clean throughout. The kitchen was so well equipped that it put most household kitchens to shame. There was a brand new cooker and washer, dryer and dishwasher.
The whole cabin is spacious and the log burner was an added bonus.
The bedrooms have lots of storage and the beds comfortable.

The person who has reviewed this as a one star before this review is frankly the most stupid person ever.
How on earth would anyone know how to work appliances, tv, sauna, hot tub etc without instructions. Unfortunately some people are stupid enough to put nappies etc in the toilet and this will lead to huge repair costs for the owner as well as the impact on other guests whose holidays would have to be cancelled while the problem is sorted.
There were no bad smells and the owner never intruded on our space.
So as this idiot has titled his review ‘please read’ then yes, read all the other excellent ones and have a great holiday.
Many thanks Phil.

I would to start on a positive as the rest of this is unfortunately going to be negative. The cabin is situated in the most beautiful location with stunning scenery. The facilities which are of use such as the hot tub and sauna are fantastic.

However, on the hot tub rules and regulations state you can only use it at certain hours. The hot tub is checked every day by the owner who turned up within in the hours of allowed use. The owner should of been more considerate and informative of what time he would be arriving so we wasn't put in an awkward situation.

The decor is 20 years out of date and curtains and coven covered in dust and cobwebs. There is damp smells coming from sauna and rear door area.

The rules and regulations are beyond a joke. If you don't follow them strictly, you will lose the deposit you have paid in advance. Rules include things like 'don't put nappies or condoms down the toilet' this is a sign which you are greeted with infront of the toilet. That is just one of the rules so you can imagine some of the others which are also stuck around the cabin.

Despite the issues this just needs ripping out, cleaned and redecorating and would be the perfect retreat. Also, if the owner didn't treat the guests like employees or servants.

Odd, Friday evening of your departure I received your email to the effect that you enjoyed your stay and will book again, and when would you get your security deposit back? Saturday I replied that I would require reassurance, since it is a Self-catering lodge, that you would follow the left-as-found policy of leaving the lodge tidy as found, and all things put away? I believe the rest of my other guest reviews on all three properties speak for themselves.

“Beautiful peaceful lodge”
Reviewed 1 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We have just returned from a 3 night break here and we absolutely loved it.

The lodge was immaculately clean and tidy and was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay.

The hot tub was very welcome after our Snowdon climb, and it was beautifully clean.

We really loved it here and there really is nothing to criticise in any way. The only thing that would improve it for me is if there was a better shower :-)

“Lovely location not easy to find”
Reviewed 20 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

The cabin was excellent, hot tub was wonderfull ! Sauna we could live without but never the less a luxury! Local walks were fab! especially the Torrent walk so close and so memorable! Dolgelleau was very quaint! We can recommend the butchers and if you like a pint! The Cross Keys had a very welcoming Landlord & dogs were welcome! as were most places we visited!
Our only Critism's would be a sign at the top of the road would have been ideal as it is not that obvious where the lodges are! Despite sat nav! Also the shower lacked an acceptable power, We thought that this day & age the pressure could be better? and lastly the frying pans had been abused so could do with replacements! but on the whole excellent!

Thank you for your comments. We are not allowed to put a sign at the top of the road. Most sat navs will take one straight to the front door including my 10 year old one, with only the post code and the property number as in the detailed written road directions supplied.

I have fitted pressure regulators to avoid over pressure damage. This may have been turned down too low at the time as the incoming pressure varies between 2.5 and 8.5 bar and is rather difficult to keep in balanced. If you had said at the time I could have adjusted the pressure.

Fair cop, the frying pans have seen better days, and are on order.

Thanks for the positive comments on the rest of your stay.

“An absolutely amazing and beautiful, clean lodge, with many added touches.”
Reviewed 9 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

The first thing that greeted us was the cleanliness of the property. It is well maintained and there was tea, coffee, sugar, cake, milk and even ice cubes awaiting us in the kitchen. Ice cubes were in the freezer obviously. It is a spacious lodge and you could quite easily spend your entire break there if you wanted. The sauna and hot tub made the stay and we all enjoyed these immensely. It was quiet and very relaxing, sitting in the hot tub, listening to the birds singing was amazing. The hot tub is situated at the back and you are not overlooked in any way. The kitchen had everything you needed, apart from your food, but it was like my kitchen at home.
We will be returning in the future, this is an amazing place for a well earned break. We cannot rate this highly enough. Stunning.
