If you are looking for a setting both serene and spectacular, remote but not punishingly so, with exceptionally warm and accommodating owners and management, flavorful, fresh, well-prepared food, beautifully planted and maintained grounds, a nice, very clean room with a "don't leave me!" bed and good water pressure, direct access from the property to both sheltered and open water (Pacific), activities aplenty plus lounge-about options from your small private patio, to hilltop poolside, to the over-the water Tiki Hut you once dreamed about in college but never expected to visit, actually - then you are just like everyone else. At least everyone else checking out this corner of Panama, right?

Point being, you can stop looking. Really. You just found Plato's Panama.

IMPORTANT: Lest this be categorized a fake review, full disclosure - the owners are once-removed friends (of my wife). But that only made me MORE skeptical of the whole idea. "No, please, I'll have to act like I love it even if sucks." So just go. Meet these people. Meet this place. You'll be happy.

A couple of buddies and myself planned a 2 day fishing trip and booked rooms at the Seagullcove Lodge. I really wasn’t really expecting anything special as this was just a fishing camp and a place to hook up with our fishing guide. When we drove up the front of the lodge we were greeted personally by the owner. Instantly she made us feel welcome and wanted to give us a tour of the facility. When you first walk into the lobby / dining area you are pleasantly surprised by the breathtaking view. You are in this open breeze way which overlooks the bay and surrounding islands. I knew at that moment this was not just a fishing camp (like I told my wife) but a first class resort. Sue showed us the rest of the lodge and walked us down to the pier where they have this great Tiki Hut right on the water. We were told that it was open to us and for us to have fun. We eventually made it to our villa which also had the same great view as the lobby area. The one room villas were really nice and comfortable. Yes the rooms had flat screen TVs but who is looking at that when you have the beauty of the Panama jungle and Pacific Ocean off your balcony. After unpacking and a few adult drinks at the Tiki Hut it was time for dinner so we all met up at the bar while the chef made us an exceptional meal. The staff was really great and was always there to help if anything was needed. The next day our fishing guide picked us up at the Tiki Hut pier. We were supposed to meet at the local marina but Sue called the captain for us and arranged for them to pick us up at the lodge. After our fishing trip we brought back some yellow fin tuna which the chef cut into steaks and made for us that night. I really can’t express enough how courteous and accommodating the owner and staff was and how they made us feel right at home. It was really hard to end our stay there but we had our wives waiting for us in Panama City.

I can guaranty you that we will be going back and this time with our wives. I can also guaranty you that you will not find a nicer group people then the owner and staff of the Seagullcove Lodge. I want to personally thank Sue, Jim, & Melissa for the great visit.

Room Tip: I believe that the lodge only has 5 villas and everyone is nice so whichever one you get will be gre...

My husband and I stumbled on this place driving from pc to boquette. Literally drove up just as they were closing for the evening, no reservation. They were more than happy to get us settled in, visit, and feed and water us.
The bungalows are updated, the view is beautiful. They have an open air restaurant with an amazing view, good food.
The only thing is if you have trouble with steps you may not be able to enjoy the walk down to the beautiful bay...

Room Tip: If you have little mobility you will want a higher bungalow. Steep steps down.

This was my second visit to this wonderful resort.

Boca Chica and the SeaGullCove Lodge will soon be on the mainstream Panama radar, if it isn't already. The owners and staff have a ultra smooth and quality operation. The food (sushi chef from out of town) last week was perfect for my family after a day at a nearby beach. We enjoyed the pool, cold beer and great service.

Vista Hermosa..

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice..
