I can honestly say that this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The atmosphere is dignified without being stuffy, the rooms have every possible touch of luxury, the grounds which overlook Rutland Water are stunning and the food superb.

The staff are charming and attentive and nothing is too much trouble.

Do go for a special treat - you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: Every room is very special in its own way.

What a fantastic stay. We went here for my husbands weekend and bought a celebration package.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, with great walks around Rutland Water. When we arrived, the hotel fires were blazing and continued to do so for the entirety of our visit.

We had the 3 course dinner with a great table overlooking the lake. I would say that whilst the food was good, it wasn't on a par with either Adams or Purnells.

Fantastic digestifs around the fire and wonderful room and bathroom.

All in all, the perfect mini break.

So pleased to hear you had a fantastic stay at Hambleton in February, the walks around Rutland Water are wonderful. We have been enjoying lovely warm weather over the past fortnight, no need for the log fires for now.

Thank you.

Great country house hotel that we keep retuning to: together; with friends; and with family. The location over looking the created Rutland water is spectacular – try to get a bedroom at the front of the house – although all rooms are good.

Tea in the sitting room, which in the summer spills out through the French windows on to the terraces overlooking the wonderfully maintained garden and then on to the lakes. Plenty of tables and chairs.

Having opted many times for the tasting menu this time we didn’t and the al a carte menu doesn’t disappoint. Good flavours, well presented and fabulous service. A trio of tomato and a good crab dish to start – followed veal and lamb. Cheese to share and great puddings – it outstripped Hibiscus where we dined the night before!

Breakfast is just as good. The staff are incredibly helpful and attentive – and they seem to be able to keep them! Great team congratulations to all – we will be back.

Room Tip: At the front over looking Rutland water

Have been wanting to sample this hotel for a while and our wedding anniversary gave me the excuse to push the boat out. Wasn't disappointed in any way. What makes it stand out is the attention to detail and personal touches that ensure all you want or need is at hand, including those little things that other up market hotels can overlook. This equally applies to the restaurant, which knocks many of those overpriced London 'starred' establishments into the weeds.

Room Tip: Would highly recommend Bay room, a bit of noise from the terrace below but more than compensated for...

We returned to Hambleton Hall to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary after spending our Wedding night and our 10th Anniversary there. We were delighted to find that the hotel was just as we remembered it, still owned by Tim Hart and still a very special place indeed. The staff are wonderful, friendly but professional and we were made to feel very special. It is the perfect place for a romantic break in a beautiful location and it will always have a very special place in our hearts.

Room Tip: We have stayed in Bay and the Blue Room, both of which have lovely views over the gardens and Rutlan...

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years and they never seem to amaze us in the quality of hotel. staff and especially the restaurant

It makes you wonder why other places can't do the same

This is a very special place the location is stunning and with the hotel looking out over Rutland water it is truly stunning

The staff from when they take your reservation to making your stay perfect with attentive service it is more like staying with wealthy friends

Now let's come to the restaurant probably one of the best we have ever dined at impeccable service without being stuffy and the food is imaginative and a treat for the senses
We really like the way the wine waiter will pair glasses of wine with each dish

As a wonderful parting gesture they picked up on that it was our anniversary so on departure they gave us a copy of the dinner menu with our name printed on the top

Now that's what you call service and attention to detail

We stayed for 1 night at Hambleton Hall and what a great night it was!! The staff is extremely well trained and demonstrate absolute professionalism and offer superior customer service. They are so polished that for a second I thought that my husband and I should be “below stairs” ....only joking.

The actual property is stunning. The architecture, art work, furnishings and fittings are all of a very high quality.

We stayed in the Blue Room which was exquisite. The view of the gardens from the room is breath taking. The room whilst a tad small is sumptuous and supremely comfortable. The bed and quality of the bed linen was outstanding. The small tin of homemade cookies was a nice touch.

We indulged in a 3 course dinner at the restaurant and were not disappointed. The food was sublime with plenty of diverse wines on offer. Again the service was attentive without being invasive.

The breakfast was also delicious. The sausage and Black Pudding were standouts.
Very highly recommended.

Room Tip: All beautiful
