Stayed here for a long weekend in early March. The cottage is ideally situated just a short walk downhill to the lake with a pleasant pub just across the way. We were a group of six adults. The kitchen was large and well equipped. We tended to use the small sitting room next to the kitchen as this was very cosy having an open fireplace, being early March we had the fire going every evening. We could have used the dining room but preferred to have our meals at the large kitchen table. The two large bedrooms were ideal having comfortable beds and plenty of space, however the small bedroom was rather cramped and not really suitable for two adults. The window in the front bedroom probably would have opened but decided not to force it as I felt that it might break if forced. The bathroom, if rather small was adequate and the shower was very easy to use and efficient.
A most perfect cottage in a wonderful setting. The hostess was very thoughtful and ensured that we had everything we needed.
Very well equipped house with lots of lovely touches. Superb location - very peaceful, but with lots to do in the area for children and adults.
We stayed for four nights as a family of 6 and fitted comfortably in the cottage. The rooms are all a good size and immaculately presented. Really beautiful infact. My only disappointment was there wasn't a travel cot available which I would expect in a house catered for families so we had to bring our own but there was a high chair and stair gate which made all the difference. Downstairs the kitchen and tv room suited us as was a good size. The kitchen is again in good condition with top notch appliances and equipment which were easy to use. My only comment on this would be there wasn't much room to store any dry food we bought but we managed all the same. Lovely location which we a re familiar with. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side but we managed a couple of bike rides and just about a walk in storm Doris! But the cottage was so nice it was fine to spend a day there entertaining family from Leicester. Evenings were spent snuggled up watching DVDs. Another point to add is that the owner was accommodating of our dog staying which was great. 5 star rating well deserved.
This is the second Christmas spent with my family at this beautiful cottage. Perfectly
located for walks around Rutland Water. The owner is very responsive to enquiries and helpful with information on things to do and places to eat around
this delightful part of the country
Spacious, warm and lovely. Very well appointed. It's rare to find this quality in a holiday rental. Very clean. The owner left us essentials for breakfast and very thoughtfully decorated it with a Christmas tree, etc.
