Positives:
This hotel is very clean, the pool area is nice and some of the staff were lovely but that’s it!

Negatives:
This hotel is not child friendly - there is a small children’s pool which is very cold, a derelict (broken) park and kids club. Supposedly there was a children’s entertainer but she was more interested in socialising with the adults. There was no entertainment apart from a 20 minute mini disco which was a total joke.

- Food was average at best
- People were allowed to smoke everywhere so the only place to sit on an evening was full of smoke
- No Entertainment or Music played
- Internet didn’t work
- Standard Junior Suite very small and had no bath
- The beds were awful and felt as though you were sleeping on a slab of concrete
- Cocktails were terrible and only had a choice of 3 cocktails each day to choose from
- The local area is extremely quiet with no parks or water sports or evening entertainment
- Beach was ok but some days full of seaweed

This is the second time I have visited Thassos and it is a stunning place to visit and would recommend staying on the west side of the island. Real holidays are also fantastic for any excursions.

Firstly, the bar/reception/restaurant staff are fantastic and work really hard. The hotel is also very clean around all areas which is great.

Unfortunately however, this hotel is lacking in a lot of areas. The 7 nights we stayed there was only one night of entertainment (live singer) - the rest of the time, absolutely nothing! There is an on-site entertainment rep, who quite frankly is more interested in chatting to people than doing any activities for the children through the day either. Nothing is organised - so unless you’re children are happy sat around the pool all day they will be very bored!

The kids club = closed all week
The park = derelict and broken
WiFi = good luck, it doesn’t work anywhere in the hotel
The food = not the selection you would expect at a 4* hotel and very, very standard.
All inclusive drinks = poor. Rotated cocktails available, so if you like something one day, chances are you can’t get it the next. No branded alcohol on AI.
Spa = good facilities and treatments

Thassos is an incredible island and it’s the second time we’ve been. However, would never stay at the Alea again.

If you want to see the island, use Leisure Holidays who are located a 5 minutes walk along the beach - they are fantastic!

Beautful hotel with nice and helpfull staff.
Rooms were cleaned every day, the breakfast and dinner were both very rich with a lot of choices.
Poolside was one of our favourites, kept clean every day, and there were always available sundbeds.
Would definitely go back!

We booked this for our anniversary and couldn’t have been more relaxed on this beautiful island and high quality hotel. When we landed my partner was a bit dubious about the other hotels the bus pulled up in however when we arrived at Alea he was so relieved! It was very modern, clean and bright. The staff couldn’t have been any more friendly and attentive, from the receptionists to the onsite shop assistant. The food was very fresh and there were a lot of options to choose from. The location was beautiful and very close to the beach. We hired a car for one day to drive around the island and found a beautiful and secluded lagoon to swim in. We’d definitely return here!

Room most acceptable, large with three beds.
(Third bed not a camp bed)
Plenty of storage with lots of hangers.
Safe was free.
Fridge in room, could have done with tea/coffee and kettle as was gasping for a cuppa in the mornings.
Food was good in the Buffett restaurant and the La Carte restaurant was lovely, you get one visit per week.
The dress code was smart casual and proper footwear is required for both resturants.
No flip flops in the evenings, staff at the desk did check your footwear as you entered the dining hall.
They were strict on this.
We did have a couple of good nights of entertainment, both singers in the main hotel.
Mother and daughter duo and a bloke on his own.
He was was very good and had us all up dancing.
The beach was pleasant, but there were loads of wasps about.
That was probably why we could not eat at the beach bar during the day, it was closed all week, only open for drinks.
The main restaurant was available at lunch time.
We used the spa for some treatments and all good.
Mini shop in the hotel for bits and bobs.
We got the bus to the market, it was very good, the reps need to promote it better, told us it was just fruit and veg, with local honey.
It was rammed with clothes, shoes, bags and much more we had a great shop and all very reasonable.
Beach towels are provided for 10 euros , which you get back at the end of your stay.
Staff at reception were pleasant and helpful.
