Villa Velika is a great place to stay on the Black Sea coast. The apartment was great. It was a three bedroom apartment with two full bathrooms and a nice little kitchenette. The complex had a great pool with a dozen umbrellas and as many sets of lounge chairs. My Bulgarian is decent but the main desk clerk still spoke decent English, although the manager spoke very little. Either way, it didn't effect our stay. We loved it there. The complex is about one mile from the beach. Lozenets Beach is a nice little beach about 20 minutes north of Sozopol. It's basically a family beach filled with well educated Bulgarians and their families enjoying the summer season. We arrived in late August to wonderful weather. The locals told us that the tourist season was basically over. Every morning we headed down to the Lozenett's small beach and loved it. We grabbed an umbrella, two chairs and two bean bag chairs for our 13 and 15 year old boys for less than 30 leva. The beach was clean, the waves were little and the people were nice. Fresh watermelon juice quenched our thirst and the little lunch spot up on the deck met all of our needs. I think it was called Moebet, but you'll find it. It's one of the nicest spots in town. Our favorite spot was at the Old House (Starata Kushta.) We ate there two nights out of four, but should have eaten there every night. It was the local's favorite and ours as well. Villa Velika and Lozenets is an awesome little spot that is worth the trip. We'll be back.
