Owner description: Famyard unworld offers visitors a local small "petting" Farm and a giant Indoor Soft Play area.(NOT a national tourist atraction!) The Farm is small and contained but is a place where we believe childen can and should be able to interact closely (and safely) with animals. To this end we offer a timed programme of chicken feeding sessions, goat walking, ferret racing, rabbit and guinea pig handling and our popular "CLOSE ENCOUNTERS" displays where you can get up close to some unusual animals not normally found on a farm. There is a small Farm shop selling gifts, animal feed, ices, cold drinks, sweets and fresh eggs. You can also have a tea or coffee and sandwich or cake in Barbara's Peacock Tea shop. Funworld is a giant Indoor Soft Play area with zones for babies, under-5's and children up to 12 years. Within Funworld we have a full cafeteria service with seating for 120. Vistors are encouraged to wander freely betwen the farm and indoor play area - so an ideal venue when weather is a bit uncertain. A visit to the farm only might last from 2-3 hours but a joint ticket to Farm & Funworld means many visitors spend the whole day with us - moving freely between the farm and play area depending on weather and our farm presentations. The Joint Entry ticket offers great value for money - whatever the weather.

My family and I love this place. Yes it's a little bit run down and small, but it offers so much more than the more commercialised "farms" locally. They do so many interactive sessions throughout the day, such as; goat walking, rabbit handling, ferret walking, chicken feeding etc etc. The animals are very friendly and tame, the animal feed is in big bags and good value for money. It has a great wooden outdoor play frame with slides, a zip wire, even a tree house. The staff are so knowledgeable, approachable and friendly. My 2 girls were allowed in the pen with the newborn lambs today where they could touch them and play on the grass with them, such a highlight. They have chicks hatching at Easter and lots of babies soon arriving as many of the animals are currently pregnant. Other highlights of the day included: holding a snake and walking a ferret on a lead. Such good experiences for kids. They can get so close to the animals and really interact with them, rather than just looking at them in pens/enclosures. The entry fee is very reasonable. If you want a more flashy day out, then go to one of the other farms nearby and pay a lot more money and have less interaction with the animals. We haven't been in Funworld yet, but popped my head in today to see what it was like and it looks great, very big with separate areas according to ages of kids, and very clean.

My kids loved it here. They particularly enjoyed petting the rabbits, walking the ferrets and holding the snakes. It is never crowded here - it may not be all shiny and high tech and is not a huge place, but, for the price, the kids always enjoy themselves looking at the animals, climbing in the playground, then there is always the indoor play area for them to let off steam.

Visited this petting farm as part of a birthday party. The site is very cramped and consequential there are only a small number of animals. We would have expected more and in less cramped conditions.
