We had a great time spending the day at Pope Beach while on vacation in Tahoe. The kids enjoyed it much more than Meeks Bay, which is where we'd been previously. They liked that the shoreline was sandy and not all rocky like at Meeks Bay. The bathrooms were very nice and clean. It wasn't too crowded on a weekday in June. There are picnic tables and shade is available. There is a company set up on the beach that rents kayaks and paddle boats, which my kids loved. Definitely glad we spent some time enjoying the day there!

Stopped here twice. Once for the sunset, it was great, and once the next day for the beach, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding. A nice long sandy beach with parking right next to it.
In the evening the tourists are gone and locals come with food and music to enjoy it.
Do it if you get the chance.

Such a great place to day camp! There was an $8 fee at the entrance, once in there was plenty of parking and a very close walk from the car to the beach. There is a lot of shade and lots of picnic tables which was nice considering we didn't bring an ex-up on this trip. Closr, clean bathrooms are available near the parking lots and beach. Beaches are clean, shoreline was nice and sandy and the water, while somewhat cold is incredibly clean and clear. The water is shallow enough to stand up in quite a way out, putting us at ease as parents with children who we're playing in the water. It's a very large beach and didn't at all feel over crowded. The view can't be beat! This is by far the best lakeside beach we've visited.

Loud music and crowded. Perhaps a good time if you are into that. I go for a bit more of a relaxing time. I went to the free beach down the way.
