My check in was efficient professional and all around a 10/10. Each interaction with the service staff was great and they are helpful. I got a suite which came with everything from pots and pans to paper towels. The valet are quick and professional. The 26$ charge is very reasonable. The key cards are modern rfid and do not demagnatize. This hotel has a very nice pool remodel that was just completed. All in all a very impressive property in the best location in south lake tahoe.

We stayed here just for a few nights to catch our breath after our "vacation" in California,on the drive from SanFrancisco to Salt Lake City. It was a time to rest-up from our vacation! It's a great location with shopping and restaurants close by and the pool area is very nice. We just had a lock- out, which is similar to a hotel room with a small kitchen, but it met our needs just fine. The bed was comfy, the heating/cooling was quiet. They had in-room wi-fi which was free for us because we're Marriott gold members, but there may be a charge if you're not. We had our own car, but even when we have a rental, my husband hates Valet parking. We don't like waiting, we don't like re-adjusting the seats, mirrors, and sometimes the radio, we don't like to have to put everything "away" so it can't be taken, and we don't like the fact that we don't have access in case we forgot something in the car. But that said, this turned out to be not all that bad. They have an arrangement where you can call ahead and they will have the car waiting for you. Very nice. They had activities going on at the pool for those that wanted to join in - we didn't. We just wanted to relax before getting back to our "real life". They also had barbecue grills by the pool area that several families were using. There were places to sit and eat near the grills. One thing that we found confusing was the arrangement with the "pool towels". We were given 3 towels in our room with a note saying we would be charged for them if we didn't return them, yet at the pool there were extra towels and laundry hampers for placing used towels - mixed messages. We were fortunate to have good weather while we were there. The morning we left it was raining. If you haven't been to Lake Tahoe before, there are lots of interesting things to see and beautiful drives. We have enjoyed seeing some of the historical homes on previous visits. It's a lovely hotel and a beautiful place. Locals often say, referring to Lake Tahoe, "one to a world". We would stay here again if in the area.

Room Tip: This place is very large. We asked for a room near the pool.

Very appealing hotel and grounds. The place is huge! We had a suite- two bedrooms on either side of a living room with fireplace and full kitchen. The rooms were furnished nicely and were very roomy. Immaculately clean and stocked. We couldn't have asked for anything else. The place is so large I got a little lost at one point while I was wandering around!
My bed was big and fluffy and I slept like a rock. My tub was huge and great for a soak. I had plenty of room to unpack and spread out, and I had the smaller of the two sleeping rooms. It was more like a condo. We cooked several meals and had all the plates and essentials we needed.
In all of my interactions with staff, they were helpful and friendly.
The location was marvelous. You could walk up the street and be in Nevada. Even if you just stayed on the hotel grounds, you had places eat and shop and swim and drink and dance and ice skate... anything you could desire. We were there before the snow arrived, so no skiing on this trip though. The area couldn't be more desirable- beautiful sight-seeing and unique shopping. I would love to come back when there is snow on the ground!

Feels like a timeshare rather than a classy hotel. But the location is good and there's lots of fun shops and restaurants. I see a mountain chair lift here so great for skiing in the winter - its right on the california-nevada state line.

The past few years we have been going to the Marriott - Either the Timber Lodge or its sister property The Grand Residences. The condos are well appointed and a very nice place to relax. There are activities on site. We have participated in several; in particular one Halloween we participated in making some spooky alcoholic drinks. A great way to start the evening.

Luckily, with drinking extra spooky drinks , one is able to walk to several restaurants in the area and also the South Lake Tahoe Casino Area. We enjoy also that there is shops, a grocery store, and a movie theater within a very short walking distance.

The swimming pool area here is very nice as well as the outdoor jacuzzi spa areas. We like their spa services as well. The valet parking is very good here and efficient.

The condos have comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, and well equipped kitchens. This is probably one of the best equipped condo kitchens we have stayed at.

Hotel staff are helpful.

The hotel is about an hour drive south of the Reno Airport if you take highway 395 and then either 50 or Kingsbury Grade to South Lake Tahoe.

Room Tip: All rooms are good - some come with washer/dryer which is nice if there for a week's stay.

Very well-appointed room with classy furnishings, as has been typical of our experiences so far with Marriott Vacation club properties. All of the normal amenities (pool, hot tub, fitness room, etc) are kept in good shape. Perhaps the biggest plus is how close it's located to an area of bustling activity both night and day. The hotel is situated right next to or very, very close to: a gondola, courtyard, movie theater, grocery store, casino(s), miniature golf, cafe's, restaurant's, and many shops. Add the nightly live music to the mix and you have yourself one cool place.

A couple more notes. First, the hotel is valet parking only. I highly recommend using the "text" ahead feature to the valet's so your car will be waiting for you when you exit the lobby. Second, most of the various programs for young and old offered by the entertainment crew come with an added-cost which may surprise nobody but mentioned because at some MVC's I've perceived the opposite to be true. And lastly the gondola ride is expensive, especially for a family of 6, but we did feel like it was one of those experiences that was worth it.

Cheers!

Excellent location, next to the Casinos and Lift to the top of the Mountain. Great selection of restaurants in the patio mall. The staff was terrific with many activities to keep everyone busy. The pool and fire pit was fun to spend time around.
