Great hotel. Traveling with 6 people. Had penthouse at our disposal. Had glitch at check in and was given discount as well as good voucher. Ck in staff were pleasant & helpful as well as concierge and pools. Hot tub access to ski rental. Gondola. Grocery store massage shops as well as restaurants couldn't be improved upon. Definitely the place you want to be !!! Great experience and views are spectacular

The Marriot Grand Residence is an awesome location. A bunch of college buddies stayed in a two bedroom suite with a nice kitchen and living area. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the rooms were very clean, and it is close to shops, restaurants, and is a short walk to Heavenly Gondola. Hotel is also a short walk to the Casinos and other bars. They also have a pool and hot tubs that are great for relaxing or spending time with friends/family. This is a great place to stay and highly recommended.

Stayed at the Grand Residence for three nights in March. Convenient to everything, shops, restaurants, casinos and most important, gondola, which is just steps out the door. The suite was furnished very nicely and had a great view of the pool area and mountain. Two fireplaces and a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath were added bonuses. One minor complaint however is the lack of plugs in the bedroom. There is a coffee maker on a small table in the corner but nowhere to plug it in except on the balcony or the bathroom...very strange.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool can be noisy, even in winter when the pool is kept heated to 80 degrees howeve...

Family group ranging from 13-25 people, ages 5-77 years old every year for past 11 years. We rent different units from owners depending on our needs. "Penthouse" units definitely worth it for the larger spaces and upgraded furnishings and washer/dryer. Private hot tubs on decks not as great as we thought they would be- the two large hot tubs by the pool are great, with heated swimming pool for lots of kid fun. Room layouts are extremely varied, so ask for the floorplan.
This is not a hotel, it is a fractional residence/ownership and we don't expect or need "service," but when we have needed something, like a light bulb replaced, they are prompt. Laundry carts in hallways provide extra towels/linens/supplies, used to be scarce but now always available.
Floors: If group with several units or kids, beware that not all rooms are not accessible on the same floor. For instance, to get from 4117 to 4203 you have to go down to level three, over to other wing and back up to 4th floor.
Skis: We rent from Powderhouse shop at base of resort, valet skis for free at Heavenly store. We have had ski shops come to the room for fittings, but the shop right downstairs is actually easier.
Raley's grocery store is right next door- the bellhops at Marriott will take your cart back for you. Beware Raley's consistently declines out of town credit cards, so take several, or cash.
Wireless access usually good, but sometimes kicked off frequently. Cell service varies depending on which part of the building. Hasn't been an issue until this year.
Fresh baked cookies upon arrival on Fridays is a nice touch.
We bus in from either Reno or Sacramento each year, and since everything is within walking distance, we never need a rental car.
Safe for kids, even with small ones going from room to room. We have never had a security issue, and we have accidentally left with the lock flipped to wedge the door open several times.
Condition is good, wear and tear obvious over past years, but rooms very clean on arrival. Furniture needs updating, and samples in lobby suggest they may be renovating soon. However, we hope they don't lose the lodgy mountain/cabin feeling we love.

The Marriot Grand Residence is the perfect location to enjoy a trip to Heavenly Village. Resort is located in the middle of the village with restaurants and shopping all located around the building. Its also right next to the gondola - easy walking distance to the casino area as well.

If your skiing or riding at Heavenly this is the best location. I stayed in a one bedroom suite, it has the full bedroom and bath with a living room full kitchen and another full bath. fireplaces in both rooms. Hotel is very secure, you have to use your RF room key to get on elevators or pool access, every time! Hot tub was very hot and all air jets work, othere than this I didnt use any of the resort facilities. I wish there was a ski valet like at the Mountainside Marriott, but it isn't a deal because its so close to the Gondola. If you want a very nice place to stay that is in the middle of everything, this is it. 7 minute walk to Harrahs, 3 minute walk to movie theater, 4 minutes to grocery store.

Great location and a fun place to stay. You are close to hiking trails and the lake and all the casinos as well. This is a nice place but the service is poor. It has a good pool and the spa is very good. There are a lot of shops nearby. The management is really non existent so don't bother trying to get anything from them in the way of service. Parking is expensive as well.
