“Two nights here wasn't enough!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2010

The studio is a lovely base to explore South Lake Tahoe. Ron, who owns the timeshare, is polite and prompt when responding to reservation requests.

The service was wonderful. We arrived early and weren't supposed to check in until 4pm, but the reception staff telephoned housekeeping to ensure the room was cleaned promptly so we could check in earlier. The reception staff and concierge were friendly and polite throughout our stay.

The studio itself is classically decorated and looks exactly like the pictures. It's spacious, with the kitchen area including a dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven, microwave, blender and pressure cooker. There's a large supermarket (Raleys) five minutes walk away, so it's easy to cater for yourself if none of the nearby restaurants appeal.

The location is wonderful, a ten minute walk to the beach, a ten minute walk to the casinos, Heavenly Village is on your doorstep and the BlueGo bus can take you to Kingsbury Transit Centre or the Y Transit Centre once an hour for just $2. We came via Amtrak, but secure valet parking is available.

I made use of the hot tub and the pool, which were clean and comfortable. There is also a spa within the complex, which I didn't try as it seemed to be rather expensive. ($30 for an eyebrow wax/shape!) This is hardly the fault of the owner, though, and all the spas in South Lake Tahoe seemed to be pretty pricey!

I can't think of much that would improve the place, and I wish we could have had an extra night there.

My wife and I had an awesome time staying at the Grand Residence Club Tahoe. The room was clean, nice layout and very comfortable. The location is central to everything on the South Shore. Parking is $24 a day for valet but you can park at the Embassy/Harrah's parking lot for free. I would recommend this resort for anyone. The price was ridiculously low for the room we stayed in.

We arrived in the off-season, right before the first snow and a weekend after a Harley event and some kind of triathalon. The hotel staff was extraordinarily friendly, helpful and courteous, from the valet to the bellboys to the front desk staff and cleaning people. The concierge was amazing! Took his time and gave us great advice on the best deals. My advice would be to definitely pick his brain for things to do, as well as the front desk staff and valets.

We got a studio with kitchen, and man was it worth it. The restaurants around town are not great overall and kind of pricey, so having your own kitchen really makes a difference. There is an incredible supermarket across the street (Raley's), so just walk over and buy food to cook in your hotel room. Full-sized kitchen complete with utensils and a very nice knife and pot and pan set. They even provide tupperware!

Great discounts on local vendors if you tell them you are staying at the Marriott (generally just show a room key). We got 15% off a sunset dinner cruise on the Tahoe Queen and 10% off our bill at a great breakfast place nearby called the Driftwood Cafe.

The room was nice, although a little bit smaller than I'd expected. The bed was a bit hard for me, but perfect for my husband. A small patio overlooked the Heavenly Gondola entrance.

The pool was closed for renovation the first night, but opened the next, and the hotel staff recommended we used the pool at their sister hotel across the way while theirs was being fixed.

Definitely try to travel during the off-season! No crowds, great deals and attentive treatment. Only downside was parking - $24 a night, plus a tip each time you ask for the valet to grab your car! Got pricey pretty quick.

Stayed in this hotel for four days, we got a studio with a fully fitted kitchen, it included everything and more that one would have at home. The room decor was excellent and I would definately recommend this hotel as a base for exploring Lake Tahoe.

We had been travelling America for three weeks and this was definately one of the best hotels we stayed in. The reception staff were very helpful.

Couldn't be happier with our experience. Our room was a 1000 square foot suite with a jetted tub, 2 fire places, one bedroom and full kitchen. It was updated and beautiful! Our room overlooked the mountains and the pool. The location was close to everything and easy access to any part of the lake. Tons of activities within walking distance. We would love to stay here again!

We've stayed at this property a couple of times now and like the quallity of the apartments and their proximity to the gondola, walks and casinos in NV.
Very clean and well equipped apartments but there are limited dining options around the area.
Would recommend to anyone who's looking for high quality accommodation in this beautiful area.

First off let me say, this was suppose to be our honeymoon we never got to take. We were expecting a "grand" stay! The hotel stay was ok. Nothing super special. The pool is nice and close to a beach. The rooms are not very large.

On our last day in Tahoe, after checking out, we asked the front desk person where we pick up the south tahoe express shuttle. We were told to go to the bus station to get it. We waited in the exact location and the shuttle did not arrive. We went next door to the Embassy and they told us that we were waiting in the wrong spot and missed the shuttle. Very upset by this, we went back and told the person. He gave us the phone to call a cab. $220 later, plus $50 for the shuttle we missed, we were very upset. We called the hotel manager the next day. She seemed to not believe her staff would tell us the wrong spot to pick up the shuttle and explained she always thought they met there. She said she would call back. After almost a week, I finally had to call her back. She told us that she spoke with the person who misinformed us. He lied to her and the GM of the hotel telling them we asked for the bus station, not the shuttle! She, ever so rudely, told us that they were not helping us out!

I have to say, never in my life have I dealt with such an ordeal! I am a guest at this hotel and instead of taking fault in their error, they blame me! NEVER will I stay at this hotel again or visit Lake Tahoe!!
