We come here every year even though it never changes. We love to see the salmon spawning this time of year and the excitment of all of the little ones as they see a ton of fish in the creek.

This is a great park to visit. We did a day trip from Sacramento early in October. There is a very nice visitor center (with bathrooms). Rangers there are very helpful and knowledgeable. Features a cut away view of a creek - you can see the salmon running if you are there at the right time. We missed it by a few days - oh well. The hike is easy and the views are great. You can walk down to the sandy lake beach - there are picnic tables. The lake vistas are awesome! There is a loop trail down to another little park with a museum and restored cabins, and old foundations of casino that used to be operating long ago. That was a nice walk also - partly along the lake. Highly recommend this for families, older folks easy walking, anyone who wants to know more about Lake Tahoe history and the fragile ecosystem.

Anytime in Lake Tahoe is a rewarding experience; a multitude of recreational opportunities combined with majestic beauty. The Taylor Creek Park offers the autumn visitor a special treat: spawning fish, the occasional wildlife viewing (bears) and, as another reviewer indicated, beautiful examples of the regional ecosystem. The walkways are wheel-chair friendly and relatively easy to navigate. Along the paved walking paths, you move through wooded forest, meadow, tall grass and lake front environments. This is a good family destination with children.

Taylor Creek is the best and easiest way to learn about the complex and beautiful Lake Tahoe ecosystem. The Stream Profile chamber is a fascinating look at life beneath the creek's surface but it may be closed during rain or heavy snow melt. Visit in October and you'll see the Kokanee salmon, small fresh water salmon that turn bright orange/red during spawning season, usually in mid-October. You may even see a bear scooping the fish out of the creek on the other side of the highway in the early morning or late afternoon.

The stream profile and lake trails are easy walks and both are wheelchair accessible.

Wonderful park, great exhibits and easy walking trails for the whole family. The Lake path takes you to a narrow, but lovely beach area and access to the Lake for watching activity on the lake, swimming and picnicing. The crystal clear water is worth the trip, whether it is warm or cold. Park staff was friendly and happy to answer questions. Best of all, it was free!!!!
