“How lucky can you get!”

We were staying at another hotel in the area and we wanted to stay an extra day. The hotel we were at could not accommodate our request however they said try the Fireside Lodge about a mile away. Luckily they had room available for one night only and we quickly secured a reservation.

Christine & Dave, the owners, welcomed us with smiles and took us on a great tour of their beautiful hotel. How lucky can you get, our room was called the Bears Den it was absolutely enchanting, we immediately said we have to come back and stay much longer.

Christine was a wealth of information giving us recommendations for dinner aside from offering us free use of a large selection of bicycles, countless amenities such as books and videos for our use while staying there. The fire pit was a great place to socialize, they even provide ingredients for "smores". It is such a warm and friendly atmosphere everyone shared experiences with us it was just like being in a great family. There is so much to enjoy its is difficult to mention it all.

The Fireside Lodge B & B will be our destination for sure next time we visit Lake Tahoe. We would suggest making reservations early to insure there is availability.

Thanks again to our hosts, Christine & Dave we enjoyed our brief stay.

Room Tip: All nine rooms are quiet and they all have their own theme, you can't go wrong with any of them.

We stayed at the Fireside Lodge for nearly a week. The rooms have a cute fireplace and very neat wall ornamentation. The Lodge is pet friendly; and the owners have cute Labrador Retreivers that are well behaved. Christine has a wonderful breakfast with Belgian waffles with delicious berry topping and syrup. She makes her own banana bread also. They served boiled eggs and most cereals. They also had a wine and cheese happy hour at 5 pm and had marshmallow roasts over a firepit when the weather permitted. I would recommend this bread and breakfast to anyone staying in South Lake Tahoe. Book far in advance because I got the last room available when I booked two months ahead. They treat you like family. Dr. James Cook

Room Tip: All rooms are similar. They have a small kitchen with microwave and sink. No stove in room.

My husband and I stayed with Dave and Christine the third week of June 2014. We had a wonderful time at the Lodge. I booked our stay six months prior and did not remember it was a B&B. We had never stayed in one before. Dave and Christine are exemplary hosts and we felt like we were the only ones that mattered although we knew everyone mattered to them. They have all the little touches that make you feel special right down to the homemade cookies and bottled water in your room to welcome you. We had to leave by 4:30AM to catch our flight and they packed breakfast for us so we wouldn't be hungry. That meant so much to us. Because of the type of setting it is we were able to enjoy the other guests during the breakfast, wine and cheese time and the evening making s'mores at the open fire pit. The front desk manager, Dennis, was eager to show us around and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job as the rooms were perfect every day. We hated to leave.

As is our way, my girlfriend and I found Fireside Lodge on TA. It's rated the number one B&B and it should stay this way. Cutting to the chase - if you're looking for a great B&B or a hotel - stay here.

Everything you'll read or have read is accurate. The rooms are wonderfully decorated and clean. The lodge is an old "motel" that's been converted to a B&B. Only nine rooms. Each a little different.

But the part you'll enjoy most is meeting and talking with Christine and David (owners) and the other visitors either at the great breakfast, free wine in the evening or at the marshmallow roast at night around the open fire pit.

We were there for the hiking and the Fireside Lodge is on the edge of National Forests. David was a wealth of knowledge for us first timers as to which hikes were best.

The B&B also has free bike use - which we took to the nearby beach. They also can loan you a kayak if you so desire.

You'll enjoy just looking at all the decorations that Christine has accumulated and tastefully placed throughout the lodge.

Say hello to the dogs when you check in. Don't be surprised if Kona follows you to your room to be sure you're settled.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. Each tastefully decorated and fun.

We, me, my husband and our 2 little dogs stayed 3 nights at Fireside Lodge 4/30-5/3. We were welcomed warmly and shown around the lodge and introduced all the fun little perks and amenities that are available to us during our stay. The owners thought of EVERYTHING! Warm blankets to use when making s'mores at the firepit, board games, popcorn to pop and eat while watching a movie in your room, and truly, there's too much to list here!
Our dogs were welcomed and our room was spotless and very comfortable. Great bed! The kitchenette is very handy and although on the small side (my hubby thought so, I didn't mind at all), our room was extremely comfortable and welcoming.
Highly recommend Fireside Lodge! We hope to make another road trip up to Tahoe in the future and we are looking forward to staying here again! :)

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are a bit larger, we were in the Pioneer room, which I loved, but was a bit tight...

We are actually summer residents at Lake Tahoe but had to stay somewhere when our summer cabin couldn't be used this week. We've driven by the Fireside Lodge for years so it was fun to get to see it inside! The signature truck filled with flowers is always so warm and welcoming to see as we go by! We stayed in the Moose Lodge suite which was absolutely darling and very comfortable. (I need to contact the owners to find out what type of mattresses they have - we need one!) A lovely, do-it-yourself breakfast is included along with snacks during the day if you get the munchies, a 2 hour happy hour with complementary wine (honor bar, too!) and the fire pit later at night for making s'mores! Every room has a different theme and the other guests we talked to all raved about their rooms. Our room had a kitchenette with everything you'd want in a vacation motel room and more! We were shocked to arrive in SNOW so the wonderful fireplace (it has a power insert) quickly heated our room and was so romantic and pretty! Every room has a large flat screen TV with over 700 DirecTV channels AND free Netflix! We were totally comfortable here and hated to see our stay end which was (unfortunately) before 8 AM when breakfast began on departure day. The only negative was the teeny tiny bathroom but with everything else, it wasn't a deal breaker at all. It was clean and had everything one needs. We will and already have recommended this place to family and friends. This will definitely be the place we recommend first. OH.. and the location is right across the street from one of the best fine dining restaurants at Lake Tahoe (Evan's) and is a reasonable walk to a convenience store and burger place. They also have bikes to borrow. There is a great bike path right behind the property without going out on Hwy 89 which can get busy in the summer months. Yes, we were very happy here :-)

Room Tip: Our room was close to the street but the noise was minimal and no problem at all! We loved the Moose...

We found the Fireside Lodge online and booked it for two nights of my family's Tahoe trip. It was the perfect spot for us! The rooms were comfortable, the lodge welcoming, the owners and employees friendly and the location perfect! We borrowed bikes and rode a nice, even bike trail to three excellent beaches with great picnic spots, a historical site, and places to eat. The owners gave us tips about trails to hike in the area. We loved the Cheese and Wine and S'mores that allowed us to talk with the other guests and enjoy relaxed time at the Lodge.

Room Tip: Not applicable. All the rooms seemed good.
