We have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints. From family lunches, to quieter dinners, the food is superb.
The Ship always seems to be busy, giving it a fun atmosphere.
Location is a bit out of the way, but worth it, right on the river.
I had the trio of fish to start, totally yummy.
The staff always seem to be young, enthusiastic, efficient and polite.

I like the Ship Inn and it has been one of my favourite restaurants pubs in the South West for many years. I often use it after a long walk with friends: the Coast line is astounding! On a warm summers evening sitting outside it is great!
They have a reasonable wine list and lots of local Ales including Jail Ale.
The food is good, tasty never have had any problems for ten years. It is your usual pub food but always well prepared fresh and well served.
The staff is friendly, helpful and kind!
Highly recommended!

Lovely setting, delicious menu, friendly staff and fantastic fellow diners (the table next door paid for our meal as it was our tenth wedding anniversary).

Waterside tables are lovely on a summers evening. During the summer make sure you book a table for dinner, it can get very busy. Great beer and good pub food. Lovely 'humming atmosphere', great village location. Boats coming and going, very relaxing to spend the evening enjoying the surroundings in a nice pub.

Come early to grab a waterside table. We sat down at mid-day on a Monday, & they were all taken within 20 mins. More tables are inside.

My John Dory was very good, & the staff were attentive & friendly. Good selection of ale on tap, including Jail Ale. Not the cheapest of menus, but this is a special location.

The view is better at higher tides, but take care parking on the slipway which becomes submerged. A village car park is set further back from the creek.

Better still arrive by foot, using the ferry from the Newton or Wembury side of the river. Do check times of operation.
