“Very Nice Stay”
Reviewed 26 October 2013

Stayed here for 1 night as visiting Karpas region (beautiful beaches here!) and a long drive out here from Girne.

Room was very clean, spacious and bed comfortable. Accommodation is basic so don't expect 5*. But to me, the most important thing in a B & B / Hotel is cleanliness and had no complaints.

Bear in mind, there are not too many eating places in the area. Manolyam next door serves local food and yes the menu isn't extensive but you are off the beaten track . I'm veggie and owner pointed out only veggie item on the menu, which was very nice indeed.

Buffet breakfast served in a beautiful building.

We stayed here on a recent trip to the Karpaz, and based our choice on the many positive reviews. I wished we had taken more notice of the poor ones!
The place is not spotless, it's grubby, tired, worn, and not at all like the site photos.
The bathroom is awful, holes tiles, no proper towel rail, toilet cistern lid comes off every time you use it then it runs all night long. The towels are grey and very frayed.
No glasses in the room, wardrobe full of very dodgy looking bedding, no ammonites at all.
The place needs a complete overhaul and whilst they should retain the character this should not beat the expense of a little comfort and basic supplies. All in all a terrible experience.

Room Tip: Don't go!

Stayed here for 2nights, our alocated room was very clean and spacious. The building itself was beautifull and had plenty of character to it. I would stay here again if I was visting the karpaz beaches I would recommend this place to anyone however one tip i would give would be to have a hire car. The breakfast at the hotel was good however the restraunt next door called monylam I would not recommend as its menu was very limited, instead go to oasis restraunt (next to ayios phillion) for sunset and a meal as it was much nicer!

This is a village B&B stay rather a 5 star hotel. Having left your 5 star place in Girne the attractions and charm of the Arches hotel start to be felt. Hot water is via an electric heater so a tip is to reduce the water pressure to get more heat. A WiFi code is given with access in the reception area. The signal doesn't make it across the road to the breakfast area.

Breakfast is fairly moderate to extensive although no fruit. Coffee was a bit rough. A coffee fix can be got up the mariner in Hemmingway's Bar. All staff in the hotel were friendly and our early booking got a good discount which was honoured by Osman the manager.

So if the quite morning chorus of birds tickles your fancy then this is the place to go. Each evening we eat at the restaurant to the right of the establishment on the bend. Excellent food, wine and attentive service.

Karpaz Arch House is a charming place with several buildings. The owner is very nice and helpful (we had booked in another B&B which let us down!!) and we got a bungalow opposite the main building. Nicely furnished, aircon, fridge and a corner with a kitchen where you could easily cook but I would recommend the brilliant restaurant next door.
Breakfast is a buffet with a good selection of food, and you can order eggs or fruit on top of that.
Highly recommended if you want a good, charming place to stay in Dipkarpaz.

I had the pleasure of being able to stay at the Arch House hotel in Dipkarpaz for several nights. The hotel is located at a 5-10 minute walk from the town’s main intersection and is also within easy walking distance of the local sports facilities. Dipkarpaz is, of course, the last settlement on the northern coast of the Karpasian peninsula, and a great point start an adventure through the Karpas.

I stayed in an upstairs room (16) in the two-story building. The room has a fridge, AC, table and dishware, cupboard, and an en suite bathroom. There is no TV. Generally, I always want a good TV, but I was very much okay with not having one here. You’re so exhausted from all the things to do that you really just want to come back to sleep!

The room has hardwood floors and the bathroom is built into a large wooden “box”(for lack of a better term) in the room; it’s really quite nice. The furniture is tasteful and the bedding is adequate. You may find a few critters (insects) in your room, but this is normal in this part of the world and you can’t avoid it at any of the hotels in town.

The breakfast is served downstairs and though I ate there every morning, the selection is quite limited. You have your choice of toast, hard-boiled eggs (though one morning, it was soft-boiled), cereal, and some veggies. Though I am okay with a relatively repetitive breakfast, by the last day, I was hoping for something new. Truth be told, there are shops around and you could also get something and prepare it yourself.

The owner is very nice and accommodating. In fact, when I asked if there was any way to rent a motor bike (there wasn’t), he arranged to find someone who would lend me theirs for a fee. Thank goodness he did, because the motorbike tour I did was one of the highlights of my trip.

Overall, I highly recommend this accommodation. If you go there, be sure to eat at Menolyam next door.

Osman is a fantastic host! He helped us so much in the planning of our wedding, including acting as a translator on a number of occasions, as well as providing wonderful accommodation for our guests. The hospitality in the village is amazing and this accommodation is a real gem. Set in the centre of the village with a beautiful archway as a focus point, the Arch Houses are the ideal choice for people wanting to explore the local area and enjoy the sights such as Ayfilon, the Golden Sand Beach and the wild donkeys! With the excellent Manolym restaurant next door you do not have to venture far for dinner either. Book it now, you will not be disappointed!
