I was fortunate enough to be in the area for the May 2014 Saturday night music and BBQ. It was memorable!!!!!! i'll be doing my best to get back up there as soon as possible. Wonderful friendly atmosphere and Stan tells a damn funny joke!!!

Once a month on a Saturday night there is a free BBQ and camping night with live music and open mic. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and the BBQ is generous and delicious prepared by friends and family of the owner. It's a classic regular event and worth attending if you want to getting amongst the social life of an outback pub!

This hotel is basically a tin shed in the middle of nowhere, but it's well worth the 16 kilometre detour from the Stuart Highway just to see the walls which are covered with dust laden memorabilia from years gone by. Stan, the owner, has done a great job with the collection, but with the recent passing of his wife Mary, the place may close. The barman was a wealth of information regarding the local area and its characters. The standard of hygiene is questionable, but the ready to drink alcohol in containers are icy cold and a refreshing break after a long drive. With regard to star rating for the accommodation, it would be lucky to get a half star.
