“Remember an old item of clothing or a rag !!!”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

After reading the history of the clootie well and how sick children were left there overnight in the hope of a cure we thought we would pay a visit .
We went there on a very hot day ( yes honestly !!!) and it was cool and shady.
We went up to the cool spring, dunked our item of clothing, wrung it out then hung from a nearby tree. Me and my girls looked round at all the other rags wondering who might have put them there and why.
Then we wished for good health for all our family and friends ( believe me we need that )
Only thing is the steps up to the well would be a bit much for the elderly or infirm

“Fairy Trees, magic wells, supernaturally fantastic”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

We found this after traipsing around some farmers field and getting soaked. It is viewable when driving along the road and then clearly sign posted . Take the first path on the left and stay left. Remember to bring an old article of clothing or some cloth (clootie means cloth in Scotland) to tie to the trees or some coins to drop in the well trickle of a well (spring.) These are offerings to the fairies for use of their well. No matter what you do, take nothing from here or be cursed by the faeries. Everyone loved it.

“Yuk!”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

Creepy site. Loads of dirty old bits of rag hanging from the trees around the well. Looks like a rubbish tip - why on earth this has been publicised as a "tourist attraction" I don't know. My family originates from the neighbouring village, Munlochy, and it is really a bit embarrassing.

“Clottie well wishing well & rag toeing”
Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

Very interesting to see a little eerie but great to see no needed for money free to do just bring a rag. Free car park, not wheel chair friendly but still great to see.

“Creepy but interesting ”
Reviewed 12 March 2014 via mobile

We have been here twice and really enjoyed both visits. There is definetely something quite spooky about the place as the sun goes down. Very interesting story around the healing nature of the well and thus the act of tying rags around the trees. I wouldn't want to be left here alone as the sun sets...
