“Interesting”

Tianlong Ancient Castle
Reviewed 26 March 2014

Took a walk through the village, interesting architecture still very much in the northern style from where the TunPu people originate. Very interesting story of how they came to be in Guizhou. It's an easy enough walk along the village, people are friendly enough, a lot of the buildings seem to be falling down and in a bad state of disrepair.

I love castles. Everytime I have the chance in Europe I visit some. This is the first time in China that I find a similar structure as a fortress on top of a hill and the amazing thing is that it is actually a Budish temple.
The location is terrific, and the old temple is beautiful per se, having stalactites hanging from some of the roofs indeed !
There are local ladies dressed in traditional style that accompany you to visit the fortress explaining every detail. I managed to understand her Chinese, not sure if there is any of the guides that can talk a minimum of English. The fee includes the visit to Tun Pu traditional village also together with the local guide.
The visit is absolutely worth in any case.
