It's ok I suppose, good value and the rooms are nice and very clean. Not spectacular but nice. About ten minutes walk from York centre and the walk is nice. Breakfast is lovely but not enough for me, again the shorts and t shirt got looked down on, and the being blind drunk when I got back didn't help I guess

I recently came here on a bargain night with my hubbie for my 50th birthday and as we normally live in a caravan, the suite was more than ample size for us! It was lovely and clean and the bathroom was very snazzy. Would have loved a bath as that's something i miss living in a caravan but the shower was fab.

We had a meal there too and the waitress couldn't have been more helpful.

It's very close to town.

The nicest thing of all was that when they learned it was my 50th, they surprised me with a box of Thorntons choccies in the room - and with the bargain price, that was very sweet of them.

Thank you for your lovely review! I'm glad you had a great time for your husband's birthday. We have a mix of rooms, some just have showers, and some have a shower and a bath - these can be requested at the time of booking if you are ever making a return visit. Kind regards, Hotel Noir.

Stayed one night. Compact hotel with parking within easy walk of Minster. Our room was small but nice and comfortable.(It helps not to have too much luggage which would clutter up the space). The shower was very powerful and certainly wakes you up! There is a coffee and tea machine in the room but it proved too difficult for us to figure out how it works. The staff however are very obliging and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a variety: fresh fruit, cereal, porridge and the familiar full english breakfast if that takes your fancy. It is an easy walk into the city which helps; No need to fight with the traffic to a city centre car park. All in all a pleasant stay at a good price.

Room Tip: The small rooms care cheaper but don;t arrive with a big suitcase.

My partner and i stopped here for two nights in July. Thoe hotel is a ten minute walk to all attractions, one straight road to the centre. Check in at the hotel was very quick, room was clean, we had the small compact room, but for what we use it for (getting ready and going out) it was fine. Room has a a hairdryer, coffee machine, fridge with water, no mini bar in the compact room. Also to my partners liking was a fan as the room does get warm.
Overall an excellent location to do the torist thing in york.

We knew we couldn't do York in just one day, so booked this B&B. Close enough to the Minster and downtown for walking, but far enough to escape the crowds. Love the contrast of modern decor and old architecture. This place didn't buy into cheap tourist ideas of York, but was unique and comfortable.
The room was extremely spacious and the shower was a cross between a water deluge and a massage. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The full english breakfast was excellent value.
If you don't want to walk 10 minutes to restaurants down the road there is a restaurant at the hotel. There is also a pub next door with an Indian restaurant attached. There you will get an Indian dinner that you will remember for a long time ..... but not in a good way!! I'd suggest the hotel for dinner.

Located just a 10-15 minute walk from York City centre, the hotel is very conveniently situated. The park and ride bus service runs close to the hotel and for £1 each way gets you into town quickly, As the name might suggest the hotel is decorated in black and white,

The rooms were excellent and quite recently refurbished. They offer different levels of rooms, all of which have different prices. The is a small friendly bar and a restaurant.

The one downside is that there is no lift and steep staircases to reach the upper floors

Room Tip: If you are less fit ask for a ground floor room

Hello Pat, thank you for your review, I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope we can welcome you back in the future! We stayed here for once night while visiting York. The hotel is brilliant, great location (around 15 minute walk from the town centre), and the staff were very welcoming. There's a great little bar and restaurant area, which could be problematic if the place is busy, but it wasn't. The room was well presented - the only fault I'd say (and this is being picky) is that the bedroom looked very lovely and modern and the bathroom was very dated and a bit shabby. It's not to say it wasn't clean - it was. Couldn't fault the cleanliness. We had a problem with our Nespresso machine and after ringing reception it was swapped for us within 5 minutes.
Also, if you're driving here, whilst there is secure parking, the car park is extremely small and difficult to get into.
Will definitely be returning here if we go back to York.

Room Tip: I'd be aware that families do stay, and unfortunately we were woken early by children playing ou...
