My wife and I enjoyed the delightful house and grounds including country walks, croquet, snooker and reading the papers in several of the generously proportioned and welcoming common rooms. Staff were helpful without being intrusive and we loved the honesty bar well stocked with single malts.

Helicopter friendly with an excellent helipad.

My wife and I recently went for champagne afternoon tea to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. Absolutely amazing, best sandwiches and cakes you could imagine. Service was as you would expect from a place with such high standards.

Would recommend to anyone for any occasion. Look forward to returning next year!

We enjoyed an afternoon tea here in September as a birthday treat for my mother's 70th birthday. We were met outside by our waiter as we parked, and he was just great. Every morsel of food was absolutely delicious, there was plenty of choice, and the tea and coffee were plentiful (without extra charge). I had booked in advance and requested all wholemeal sandwiches, but they came with a mix of wholemeal and white. However, when I pointed it out, it was immediately rectified, but they left the original sandwiches with us, so those of us who could eat white bread had a double helping. The surroundings are relaxed and beautiful, it's a really special place and comes highly recommended.

Having grown up in the local area between aged 6 and 18, I have a special place in my heart for this area already, but it is even more enhanced by the beauty and elegance of Llangoed Hall. My now husband and I chose Llangoed as our wedding venue in June 2013 and cannot speak highly enough. We were lucky enough to book for the perfect month, since the hotel had recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbihment and was completed very soon before our wedding.

The communal downstairs rooms ooze elegance and sophistication. The morning room was a gorgeous room for our civil ceremony, with the sun beaming in and original fireplace and window settings. The bedrooms upstairs are decorated beautifully, many with original Laura Ashley materials and original features from the house before it was a hotel. Each room is different (we hired the venue exclusively and had a look in all the 23 rooms to help decide which room would suit each guest.

The service was faultless, both during the run up to and during the wedding itself. We cannot think of a single item which we'd have improved. A disaster nearly occurred when our local baker didn't stack the wedding cake correctly, so the cake started to lean to one side, but the chefs at Llangoed Hall noticed this and came to the rescue by dismantling the cake and correcting the issue with ease (and replacing all the flowers perfectly!)

The canopes and food were extremely well presented and full of lovely, well combined flavours. The fillet of beef was 'melt-in-your-mouth' and the starter and desserts were so delicate and obviously prepared with great care. We received many wonderful comments from our guests on the food alone! The excellent kitchen team was led by a Michellin Star Chef (new in 2013!).

The gardens are also immaculate. The maze was well tended to, along with the flower beds, many hedges, large apple orchard and croquet lawn.

I truly cannot recommend this hotel more highly, certainly for a wedding venue, but also for general stays or visits for lunch/dinner. I travel a huge amount with work and often stay in hotels in the UK and abroad, and I can genuinely say I've not stayed in a hotel with better service, kinder staff or better food. What a combination!

Thank you all at Llangoed! We had a perfect day and will be back in December for the Christmas lunch!

We attended a wedding at Llangoed Hall in November 2013 and also stayed in the hotel.
The hotel is beautiful inside and out, they have done a fantastic job putting and keeping it in excellent order.
We were warmly and efficiently greeted.
The wedding ceremony and all that followed was well organised and very well done indeed.
The food was exquisite, everything from canapés, through the wedding breakfast and evening buffet and at breakfast in the morning.
The room decor was stunning as is the setting.
Altogether flawless experience.

This was a surprise visit for my 50th birthday, and I could not have asked for anything better. Our room was amazing, the bathroom enormous everything so well done. We went for a walk in the garden in the afternoon and decided to sit in the Library to play a game of scrabble. It was all so peaceful and sophisticated! While playing our game, I ordered a couple of glasses of lemonade which arrived in cut crystal glasses - oh yes, and I won! Dinner, now that was another fabulous experience. The pre dinner drinks, served in front of a roaring log fire, choosing at our leisure from the wonderful menu, the canapes, the pre-starter, the food, the service, the petit fours, the coffee - and then there was the excellent night's sleep and breakfast!!!!! My only small criticism, and somebody has already mentioned this, it would be nice if there was some quiet, maybe soft classical or piano music playing in the restaurant during dinner. The restaurant isn't huge, and we did feel we had to talk in whispers, but it certainly didn't spoil our experience.

This is definitely a hotel for 'grown ups' and so right for that special treat. I hope I am lucky enough to go again for another special occasion.

To celebrate my friend Ken's birthday, 4 of us went for afternoon tea at Llangoed Hall. We were shown into a drawing room and sat down in very comfortable chairs by a fire place. We chose 2 Welsh Teas and 2 Cream Teas and were offered a wide choice of tea. The Cream Tea came with 2 delicious scones each, clotted cream and strawberry jam. We asked for more clotted cream as what was provided didn't really stretch to 4 scones and this was supplied straight away. The Welsh tea included slices of Bara Brith (Welsh fruit loaf) and two Welsh Cakes [very light and tasty]. The service was very friendly and attentive and we felt very comfortable [my wife Wendy and friend Amanda are now cooking up plans to spend a Xmas there!]. The Hall, it's contents and the grounds are beautiful. The bill came to £40 - what value for an amazing treat!
