From the moment we arrived in the Courtyard you are met by the sight of a beautiful old building with two vintage cars parked at either side of the entrance. Within minutes you walk into an ambience of another generation of family treasures and antiques in very comfortable surroundings. The extensive Gardens and Lawns are well laid out with the opportunity to play Tennis, Croquet and Chess or a leisurely walk to the River. The service throughout was excellent with all staff extremely helpful while the restaurant gourmet dinner and the afternoon tea addedto bthe enjoyment. What an ideal place for a Wedding. The only disappointment was that in a building that has been improved enormously with a spend of millions there was no air conditioning.

Room Tip: Try for a Room overlooking the Rear of the Hotel

We had a delicious Sunday lunch here, in beautiful surroundings .
The house is well appointed and the pictures of the bedroom look stunning. It's a very comfortable hotel with gracious public rooms.
The luncheon was divine in the most beautiful blue dining room I've ever been in.
All together a marvellous experience and well worth a visit.
It is expensive but your worth it...!!!,

Room Tip: All the bedrooms are very pretty and beautifully decorated as it was once owned by Laura Ashley.

My 3rd visit to Llangoed and each time the experience just gets better.
All business-related trips but the hospitality and cleanliness from staff is of the utmost level and you are made to feel extra special , it truly is a "home from home" feel and wonderful destination to have some escapism in its tranquil settings/ gardens.
Great staff and fantastic offering.

Stayed on 24 hour conference rate with colleagues.
Accommodation, food and service:
Magnificent setting and decor in all public rooms; lovely laid-back ambience; good welcome; lovely furniture, fittings and soft furnishings in room; great bathroom with Penhaligon toiletries; excellent food, drinks and service throughout.
Conference:
Beautiful conference room; plenty of paper and pens for delegates; plenty of room to 'spread out'.
The only slight negative was the amount of food offered at lunch was not extensive for the cheapest day-delegate rate.

If you can get a good B&B deal, e.g. £120, then this is good value. Some of the 'classic' rooms are on the small side, but they still have quality. The restaurant is expensive, but the food is of a high quality (bordering on Michelin star). Service is also top notch. This is a high quality establishment, but also rather down to earth in some respects, without being pretentious. If you opt for the whole package, then you need a deep wallet (or get somebody else to pay), but it's also worth a look for a dip-in B&B with a short drive to a local pub for your evening meal.

Langford Hall is a fantastic building steeped in centuries of history located in a rural setting very close to Brecon and Hay-on-Wye. The interior furnishings and fittings also make this place feel pretty special with attention to detail which helps create a homely atmosphere which is quite an achievement in such a imposing building. There are a couple of things that I would expect to be better for a 5 star establishment, there is no valet so expect to carry you own luggage to your room, the staff were nearly trying to hard, asking every time they came close if you were ok to the point of being annoying. They also pre-printed our final account with an automatic 10% service charge without asking so be warned! The overall service was good but compared to similar establishments a bit more bespoke attention to detail would have made it excellent.
