Incredible views and walks from this hotel which is more like being in your own rather grand home! Stayed here more than once and could not fault anything! The area in which this hotel is situated just cant get any better. There are large grounds to explore and many walks to take to walk off the yummy welsh food!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful but the rooms in the main house are the best!

We stayed at this Marvellous hotell, just few things could make it a fantastic place. No Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room, There was no such area for bar although drinks can be served in lounge. The Ala carte prices are out of context. £16.00 for Starter (very Small), £35-40 for Main Course and £16.00 again for Dessert.
Nice Hotel and good service but there are many alternative places to eat at fraction of the price with good food and service

This place is just superb, situated 20 mins from Hay on Wye. On first view it really is like staying in a stately home. We were met at the front door by staff and shown to reception, the paper was ordered and coffee and tea arranged for delivery by maid the following morning. Our first impressions were good, beautiful paintings, soft carpet underfoot. We were shown to our room, number 2 (Classic Room) which had the wow factor for me, a Four Poster Bed, Chaise Longue, welcome decanter of sherry, water and juice and a plate of fresh fruit. Antique writing table, plenty of room, a large walk in shower, bath and bathrobes.Free Wi Fi. What more can you ask for. Oh view out of the window ( The Black Mountains). Bed was very comfortable. Shower one of the best.

Croquet available, snooker room, outdoor chess, grounds to walk in with Maze.River Wye and its footpath minutes away.

We had 'Afternoon Tea' in the lounge overlooking the rear of the Hotel. Comfortable Chairs excellent service and lovely food. A really relaxing atmosphere.the piano was there but no one to play (shame)

Breakfast was a nice experience, Dining room also overlooks the rear of the Hotel,Menu service all local produce, freshly cooked to order, plenty of choice.

Yes this Hotel is expensive but it is worth it. This should be on your list if you are staying in the area. A real pleasure.

The rooms, the setting, the staff, the paintings, the lounges, the quality of the food are faultlessly wonderful.

But ..... be ready for the prices of the evening menu which are truly eye-watering, and some charges felt, frankly, like a rip-off (for eg. £9.50 for a G&T - how is that justifiable? Tea £25 for one welsh cake and one slice of bara brith each...)

This was an anniversary trip so we paid with a smile, but on reflection (and studying the bill more carefully on the way home!) we felt the B&B side of it had been worth it but not the tea/drinks/evening meal. We're not cheapskates and are prepared to pay a fair bit for the kind of meals they serve and the setting, but the menu/drinks prices are OTT and we won't be eating here again.

My twelve year old daughter and I shared a lovely room 5, with beds made up as a twin, on a quiet Sunday night. The room had great views of the countryside and was beautifully decorated in a mauve Laura Ashley colour scheme which was very restful. We appreciated the fresh fruit bowl and drinks provided: still and sparkling water, cranberry pressé and a decanter of sherry. Morning coffee was brought to our room with a newspaper - what a nice way to start the day. The bathroom had an excellent shower and all the toiletries we needed, together with fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers.

Food was excellent: we enjoyed an afternoon tea, room service sandwiches and an excellent breakfast featuring eggs from the hotel's own hens during our stay. My Coronation chicken sandwiches were notably good. One thing I found unusual was that the hotel does not have a bar, but the friendly staff will take drinks orders and bring them to you in the morning room. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, served in the pleasant light blue dining room while I read my complimentary newspaper.

The whole house and gardens were wonderful - like a National Trust stately home where you were allowed (and encouraged!) to sit on the chairs. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the hotel is very handy for Hay-on-Wye. I would love to go back again.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights as the first stop in a tour of Wales. And what a find! Everything was perfect. The room was beautiful with a magnificent view of the gardens and beautifully appointed. The staff were excellent, all incredibly courteous - although not many Welsh amongst them! And after a fabulous nights sleep, the breakfast was the best we'd had. And throughout the hotel was a beautiful scent of fresh flowers.

Simply perfect.

It is not often that you find a hotel where it is a struggle to find a fault. Llangoed Hall is such a hotel. The setting is beautiful, the service second to none, the staff delightful, the rooms elegant, charming and tasteful. Of course let us not forget the food which is simply superb. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to live in a manor house with a butler, try this for a few nights. You will wonder no more! Brian and his team are amazing, nothing is any trouble at all.

Room Tip: I think all of the rooms are beautiful, though some smaller than others.
