This hotel might lack some things for those used to faceless five star accomodation and service but I would stay here every time given the choice. The manageress was the perfect blend of courteous, friendly efficiency and in our case professionaly saved a minor stay spoiler. The location is stunning, the food stupendous and the atmosphere most congenial. We loved our two day stay and without doubt would return to sample and experience this hotel again with its home from home feeling and excellent facilities and position.

Room Tip: Master bedrooms in main house are a bit noisy on the first floor if people above and bathrooms match...

We stayed for two nights and we were very impressed with the handy location and the beautiful terrace. The staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable, although quite a lot of the furnishings looked a bit tired, as did the stair carpet.
It was good but not great...I think a bit more attention to detail is needed.
Fresh milk was brought up as soon as we arrived but not taken away again. I.e. Fresh milk left out for at least 36 hours.... Yuck.
Not enough plug sockets in the bedroom.. Balancing the kettle on an ornate dresser was interesting. Tea bags etc not replenished. Buffet breakfast was sparse, although the cooked plates were delicious.

Room Tip: We overlooked the front of the hotel, and was lovely to hear the sheep

The Hotel is in a beautiful setting, the staff are friendly and welcoming. Only spent one night in a lovely room with fantastic views of mountains and countryside and can hear river running below outside terraces. lovely outdoor pool area.
The food which we had from a set menu was delicious and reasonably priced for quality and presentation of food.
The hotel is beautifully maintained and we hope to visit again would thoroughly recommend.

We arrived at two o'clock and were very muddy after our walk up the Brecons!! The receptionist showed us to our room which was in one of the outside stable rooms. We had only been there 5 mins when another lady turned up to tell us that we could move to the main house as we were booked in for a massage later on that day. The room was really lovely and spacious with really comfy beds. The bathroom had a roll top bath with stunning views over pen y fan which we had just walked up!! We asked for more bath bits and bobs which were sent up within ten mins of asking. We went on to have a wonderful massage followed by a much needed sauna. We then enjoyed a wonderful meal, the lamb was plentiful and service was prompt and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a get away from it all stay. I would strongly recommend you explore the beautiful Brecons and enjoy a wonderful massage after :)

Room Tip: If your going to have a spa break or massage its a good idea to make sure your in the main house. Y...

Superb friendly hotel, where the country house charm is matched by very friendly and welcoming staff. Very comfortable rooms, in traditional style with but will all modern touches. There are wonderful views of the mountains and a great terrace overlooking the River Usk. We stayed here to take advantage of the wealth of nearby mountain bike trails. Could we keep our (muddy!) bikes somewhere safe? No trouble at all! In fact the staff go out of their way to help. The Bar and lounge are full of old armchairs in timeless fashion, and it feels small and cosy. There is an excellent gym and spa and the only possible improvement would be to house the outdoor (heated) pool in a building or structure - it does rain a lot here!

I stayed here with my husband for 1 night during a short break for his birthday. Our room was beautiful with lots of timeless design and so much space, and a comfortable bed! The hotel is lovely inside and out with lovely inside and outside seating areas. We ate dinner in the hotel which was delicious, and they catered for my gluten free diet, thank you. My only slight point would be the food was a little too sweet or salty for my taste, but it's a minor point as it was delicious and I would recommend it to anyone. We will be going back!

A country house hotel in the old tradition, Peterstone Court has comfortable, well equipped rooms, a good chef, and a fabulous location. The terrace overlooks a superb view, the River Usk trickles past the garden and the place feels as if it is part Early 20th Century aristocrat country retreat. What's good about that it that is the right part that is old fashioned. The bar and lounge area full of genuinely comfortable old fashioned armchairs rather than modern, blingy and achingly unergonomic designer sofas.

My room felt luxurious, was comfortable (the pillow passed my demanding pillow test) and a pleasant place to be. The only possible crit would be the water pressure in the shower was not as aggressive as one would find in a city hotel of comparable quality - but this is deep in the countryside, and it is quibbling.

I stayed here on a conference, and these facilities were good too, but I would (maybe will) return for a quiet weekend away.
