“Good service, friendly staff”

Despite a big group booking we all go our food at similar times without mistake. Ribeye steak was cooked well and servings of chips were huge! Friendly staff helped us with directions and local knowledge.

“Great food, friendly people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

We were looking for a tradtional pub meal and we found it. Great food, huge servings, good price. Great choice on the menu and good options for vegetarians. The staff were very friendly and we stayed around after our meal to chat to them and the locals. Sorry I missed out on the jam roly ploy but the sponge syrup pudding was lovely. Will be back next time we are in the area.

“Great find! -excellent food! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

My partner & I were looking for somewhere for some nice 'pub food' after a long walk along the Brecon canal and came across this little pub. What a great find it was, we were unsure if they would still be serving food as it was 8:15pm, but they were & we received a warm welcome and were given menu's shown the specials board & seated. A great menu with lots of choice for everyone. I had the gammon which was gorgeous & my partner had the steak & ale pie which was also really good! Great food, large portions, excellent friendly service, good value - perfect! Will definitely be back!

“definitely worth a visit.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

I went for a sunday lunch, on a bank holiday monday.
My partner had been told the food was really good.

I have passed this Inn many times and never thought of trying it.
There is nothing wrong with its appearance, just nothing thats says "wow, "
It all looks a bit out of date.
Inside is the same, (see "revenousenglishman" review) who sums it up perfectly.

We both had the roast beef dinner, very jenerous portions ,well cooked veg ,and great gravy.
The service was good .the staff were friendly, I liked it in a strange way.

I say "a strange way" because the whole place feels like you have walked into a 1970's time warp.

I would go again, and if you want straight ,unpretensious well cooked pub food give it a go.!

Some outdoor seating. They could make more of it, all a bit shabby.
