“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

We stayed for three nights in August with our two children occupying all three rooms. We were delighted with the rooms and views over the farmland. Very comfortable rooms, great beds and a quiet nights sleep. Caroline clearly enjoys hosting, lovely extra touches of homemade shortbread and chocolates in the room with a good variety of teas and ground coffee. A great slice of homemade cake and tea on arrival. Breakfast was in a bright room with great views and each day different dishes were on offer, all very tasty and well cooked. A good area to explore the North York Moors, coastal area of Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay and the city of York. This must be one of the best places we have stayed and look forward to returning to explore the dales and other towns close by.

Room Tip: Yeoman is the smallest but all rooms of a high standard.

Just back from two nights at Cundall Lodge and we couldn't find a single fault. Wonderful hosts and everything you would expect in a top class B&B. Faultless in every way and we would certainly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

A genuine 5 star B & B, with everything delightfully done. Beautiful decor, charming furniture and fine finishing touches in a characterful old farm house with gorgeous views over farmland to the distant hills. Our bedroom was great - roomy, comfy and thoughtfully provided for. I particularly enjoyed the little tin of homemade shortbread biscuits. Lovely bathroom, again tasteful and every need taken care of. Breakfast was super - both the quality of the food (I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon) and the homemade touches of warm rhubarb puree and homemade marmalade. One of the three best B & Bs I have ever stayed in - thoroughly recommended.

We spent two nights here after the place we had originally booked did not meet our expectations.

This is an excellent 5 star luxury B&B. For couples or singles every possible need has been catered for, meaning that you are in for a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.

Set in the Yorkshire countryside this is a quiet relaxing haven, but is within easy reach of York.

Our room was large and beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished with heavy old style furniture. The bed was comfortable, with crisp white cotton sheets. The bathroom was spacious, beautifully decorated, extremely well appointed with lots of places to put things. Caroline provides large thick fluffy white towels. Pure luxury. It was like a home from home. All this and an exceptional view of the Yorkshire countryside to boot!

And after all that comes a delicious award winning breakfast.

We have already booked to go back.

We chose Cundall Farm as it is very convenient for the A1 and we needed somewhere to break a long journey but it was a beautiful building and a really delightful place to stay. Homemade cake on arrival, posh chocs and shortbread to nibble. We had a very comfortable night's sleep and an excellent breakfast served in a beautiful dining room. There was a lot of choice too. Everything was scrupulously clean and the decoration tasteful. I particularly enjoyed the range of books and magazines to dip into.

Room Tip: The White Horse has a wonderful view if the weather permits.

Great setting on the doorstep of both the Yorkshire Moors and Dales, really comfy bed and wondrous joy - homemade biscuits & posh chocs on the tea tray. Breakfast spread was really good too and somehow very calming watching the free-range chickens mooching about in the morning.

In our trip the only real farm adress. Very hospital (lent us a pair of boots for a walk) and beautiful dining room. Very good breakfast. Our room Yeoman was sufficient but rather small with a poor view.

Room Tip: choose your room on the back of the house. They have more space and good views. Unfortunately these w...
