John & myself held our wedding reception at The Marton Hotel & Country Club. In the ballroom. Everything was perfect. The staff & Rita really did us proud nothing was too much for them. Food was excellent. We visit once or twice a week for meals. They treat us like royalty every time we go. Thankyou Rita & staff.. Marlene & John Shenton

Stayed here over night in a 'superior' room but nothing superior about it! ( room 126) through booking.com. on the marton hotels own website there a no superior rooms advertised but suites are, paid £60 which was overpriced for what the room we had.
The bed was awful you could feel every spring through the mattress. There was a loud constant humming noise all night which you could hear with the windows closed , so take some earplugs!
There was no desk or table near a mirror so was difficult getting ready also no plugs near mirror so made doing my hair very difficult.
On the surface it appeared clean but tried not to look to hard or close , bathroom was clean.
The iron i asked for had left marks on our clothes so told reception needed cleaning or throwing!
You can smell cigerrette smoke on the corridors , yuk! I did request a non smoking room, glad I did as some are still used as smoking rooms :(
The staff were helpful and cheerful.
They have a 5 star hygiene food rating which is reassuring, breakfast was ok, nothing special, catering sausages , everything already made, help yourself Buffett style , not a massive choice but is only 3 star hotel so you get what you pay for.
It's a very tired outdated hotel and def nothing country club about it, as its next to a main road and dual carriage way.
We stayed as it friends where holiday a party there in the evening If we visited the area again I'd find somewhere else to stay I'm afraid.

If you want good home cooked food and good bedrooms with freeview big screen TV's and great shower for £30 pp for a newer double room with full English then book in. If you want Alan Patridges travel tavern go elsewhere. Sure bar could do with new fixtures, but stayed before and for the money it's very good.

Room Tip: newer types are better, last one had just been done

Booked three rooms for relatives coming from Ireland for family bereavement and all of them remarked for how much they had enjoyed the Hotel. Rooms were clean, staff very friendly and breakfasts excellent. Many thanks to the Hotel for looking after my relatives. Cannot understand people who blame the hotel for noisy neighbours. This can happen at any hotel. You would struggle at any hotel to get a meal after 2pm. Go across road to Rudds Arms or 400metres south to Marton Shops.

I stayed here with my son, the place is very outdated and the lift only just works, we stayed in a standard room and it was what you would expect for the price, we did not eat at this hotel as the whole place smelt old and fusty, I would rather they did it up a bit and charged more.

This was a late booking and wasn't expecting much from this hotel due to low price. But forget the dismal low score of some this was an excellent hotel and we loved their breakfasts (very good) and the room. We were told about some joke guests on arrival that had done a runner and not settled their 500 pound bill - if you can afford it get a mirror and look into it you total saddos! This was a lovely hotel for the money paid. Full compliments to the chef who was not only happy to cook the food but come out onto the dining area and ask if everything was OK. And also to the sandwiches that he passed around on our last night at the Hotel. If you want five star there is hotels available. But I'm sure not giving the service that this Hotel supplies. Well done to everybody here during our stay
