“Lovely spot and great location”
Reviewed 4 April 2017 for a stay in March 2016

We are a family of 4 and enjoyed our stay here! A warm reception for us upon arrival and won over the kids with treats too, very nice. The cottage was stocked with all the essentials as well as games for the kids. Location was great: just about a 5 minute drive to nearest train station (Church Fenton) to get us to York. Also, nearest pub was just steps away! We especially enjoyed the contemporary layout of the kitchen and it helped to have laundry onsite.

“Perfect romantic hideaway once more”
Reviewed 11 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Courtyard cottage holds a special place in our hearts: I was staying here in 2012 when I first met Andrew, and we have used it regularly when visiting for school breaks in the area. It has become a home from home for the two of us and also our two teenage sons when they've been on long weekends, so it seemed fitting that we'd again stay the nights preceding our wedding! ( nb the cottage is an easy short drive to nearby Tadcaster which had all we needed for last minute necessities such as cafes serving hearty breakfasts, barbers, beauticians and florists keen to help! )

The cottage was - as ever - well equipped, and Sally.s extra touches of providing enough tea coffee sugar, milk wins and sweets is always greatly appreciated! It's this thoughtful and consistent approach that makes us return to Courtyard Cottage so often.

Thank you once again from the Wright Winterburn family

“Spacious, fully equipped, modern cottage.”
Reviewed 23 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Perfect little cottage, set in a private courtyard, with gardens at the back, and beautiful church garden nearby. One could even find plenty of entertainment on a rainly day with all the DVDs on offer. Fully equipped open plan kitchen and living area, up on the first floor with plenty of natural light and privacy. Very spacious bathroom with power shower. We only stayed for a weekend, while attending friends' wedding but one could stay muich longer and feel at home.

“Comfortable, well equipped cottage in pretty location”
Reviewed 12 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Courtyard Cottage is a well appointed, pretty, and comfortable holiday cottage with all modern amenities and located in a secluded and very private courtyard. The living area is large and spacious and feels like a home from home. Thanks to Sally and Andy for being great hosts and especially for the little welcoming touches such as wine and chocolate. I would not hesitate to recommend Courtyard Cottage.

“Would definately visit again, great place and lovely cottage”
Reviewed 2 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We have returned from a great 2 night stay at Courtyard cottage. What a lovely place, very clean, organised and full of all the amenities we could need including towels, dvd's, wifi, cooking condiments and local info. Really loved the cottage and also can't fault Sally for her clear instructions of how to get there and get in. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again, just a shame we didn't make use of the garden and bbq as that all looked great too. If you are visiting the area, make sure to check if the cottage is available!

“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Lovely surprise of sweets for our granddaughter with cider and beer in the fridge for adults-thank you it was much appreciated.

The cottage is a good base for visiting York where we visited Jorvik, Railway Museum and Clifford`s Tower (parking was expensive at £11.50 for day!)

Comfortable beds and good facilities plus basic provisions (tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc) available.

There was a good selection of DVDs, games and books to choose from and the internet access was very handy.

Good information packs with local walks and places to visit. We did a 3 mile circular walk from the cottage through Saxton village which was good. Also visited an important historic battlefield at nearby Townton which was very interesting.

The garden was lovely and our four year old granddaughter loved the space to run around and particularly liked the secret garden for hide and seek.

The owner was very helpful during our stay and we will certainly recommend the cottage to our friends.
