“Wouldn't go again”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2014

Trying to be something it isn't would be the easiest way to describe this place, we live quite local and pass this pub all the time, so for a special occasion we booked a table for a pub meal, although these guys seem to want to be more, the food was average, the prices were too high, and the service was poor. It's a pub, do pub food at reasonable prices and it will work, they seem to be trying too hard to make it an overpriced gastro pub but don't have the ability to manage it. The majority of the other clients there were miserable, not sure if it was caused by the being there or not but our happy family party chat seemed to be frowned upon.

“Don't bother with motorway services when this is just a little way off..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

Wonderful fresh food. The large Yorkshire puddings were yummy (but so were the small ones too!!). The hotess and locals were very friendly.
We sat outside and watched the goats. As an avid reader of everything I learned all about the local battle site too (and the re-enactments).
I wont bother stopping at Wetherb Services again when this is just a few minutes away from the motorway - so will be back!!

Another great meal, quality food and portions sizes just right. Staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. Really warm relaxed friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
