My boyfriend and I were moved to Kingdom Cambodia Resort Hotel, also known as Koh Rong Resort, after Bunnan Bungalows where we had originally booked to stay was overbooked. We were offered the choice of staying in this “luxury resort” for the same price or finding somewhere else. Air con, WiFi, bath, room service, swimming pool and all the other amenities listed on their website sounded great so we opted to stay there. What a disappointment, the hotel is nothing like described on the website, Facebook and here, the power runs 5pm to 9am, although it was turned off at 8am on our second morning, the aircon doesn’t work, you are given one dirty fan. No idea what they mean by “butler service”, no phone in the room so I’m not sure how guests are expected to contact anyone to request this or room service. The rooms have lovely baths and rainfall showers but you can’t use them as you can only get hot water through the electric shower when the generator is on. The whole place is filthy with missing tiles, bugs in reception, spiderwebs and I’m assuming the toiletries are from another hotel as they have a different hotel name on them. We requested are room to be cleaned 3 times in our 3 night stay and it wasn’t done once - coffee, water etc therefore wasn’t replaced. They put champagne flutes and a cafetière in the room - can’t believe you can get any use out of these. Rubbish all over the place and staff just sitting around eating everywhere. We didn’t go in the pool as it looked really murky. Also there is nothing to do, no trips, no massages, nothing. No WiFi, we used next door’s.
I think that I’m being generous in 3 stars as we knew from our original booking that power etc was going to be scarce, that’s not a problem when paying $30/night as we were meant to with Bunnan Bungalows but the prices at this place are crazy and you don’t get anything more for your money. Save your money and stay elsewhere, we also stayed at Treehouse Bungalows which was great and White Beach Bungalows next door to Treehouse Bungalows looked really good too.
