After traveling all over NZ for a month we spent our last few days at this lovely inn. We could not have found a better location or accommodation. Arriving later in the evening we were warmly greeted by Judy the owner who help us get settled and then directed us to a choice of several nearby restaurants in the charming village of Devonport. Each room is unique, charming and comfortable. Peace and Plenty is in a great location just a few minutes from the ferry and a 15 minute ride across the bay to Auckland. There were wonderful delicious options at breakfast. We enthusiastically recommend staying at quiet, peaceful Peace and Plenty a pleasant respite after sightseeing and exploring Auckland just a short ferry ride away.

Thank you Judy for a wonderful stay. If we could have stayed longer we would have. Bruce Springsteen was in town and so the place was booked full! If we ever return to Auckland (which we hope to one day!) we would like to stay here. Devonport is a perfect, convenient, clean location with plenty of restaurant options (We recommend Manuka). Its great fun to stay here and convenient to take the ferry promptly into the city.

We stayed in the Garden room, lower level of the guest house, plenty of windows, comfortable bed and generous facilities (sink, microwave, kettle / coffee and tea, some biscuits/cookies), complimentary port and sherry in the room.

The dining area / lounge is very pretty, full of character. This is where guests eat - the best tea and china, beautiful treats to eat, breakfast to order from a nice selection.

We had the opportunity to park on the property - ask beforehand if this is important to you because it is limited space.

Judi makes a special effort to operate the B&B sustainably which is hard in an older home (read the details in the guest book folder).

Cooper is a gorgeous dog who lives with Judy. Very friendly.

Room Tip: We chose the Garden room to have access to parking.

We were in the garden room which is a nice large room and very pretty. The shower room very much needs upgrading if this establishment wants to be considered a boutique B & B. Dog excrement was a problem both in the main house and on the pathway from the garden room into the house when we were there.
Breakfast was very nice.

I feel I must reply to your review on me at the Peace and Plenty.
I am 10months old, I don't jump up or bark but I am very gentle and love people. Without sounding to conceited I really think I help to put people at ease and contribute to the very friendly and happy atmosphere that is part of being at the Peace and Plenty.
I am sorry if you were upset at finding a mess in the garden but usually my family are quick in dealing with such things. I might add your allusion to the digression in the house was of a very rare nature and I hope a thing of the past.

Regarding your comments of the Garden Room, this room was totally refurbished last year, including work on the bathroom.

We are sorry to read that you rated your stay at our lovely 1880 Heritage Villa as "average"

We spent our first wedding anniversary at the Peace and Plenty Inn & we will never forget it! It was absolute paradise! The room, ensuite and house were just beautiful! We loved all the little details! And the food was incredible! Such a large range of options to choose from! Our lovely, lovely host Judy was fantastic, very accommodating, nothing was a problem! The nicest person ever! And her dog Cooper delightful! The Peace and Plenty Inn is set in such a gorgeous area right by the beach. It made for the perfect weekend! We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to all! Seriously the best accommodation ever! We can't thank you enough Judy! :)

Room Tip: We stayed in the Windsor Room & it was absolutely amazing!!!
