The stay was unfortunately too short, but we will return to this place, because Mrs. Judith was very kind with us. The room was nice, as well as the breakfast and the possibilities of making use of the internet.

Once we will come back.

Thank you again !!

Traveling all over the world has given us opportunities to enjoy wonderful beds, and eat delcious breakfasts.

In the seaside town of Davenport,a 10 minute ferry ride from Ackland,New Zealand we stayed at the Peace and Plenty Bed and Breakfast; and it topped our lists for both.

From the moment Stanley and Judith greeted us and Grant carried our bags up the stairs we enjoyed the best stay in a bed and breakfast we've yet experienced
in our long travels from Buenos Aires to St.Petersburg,to Florence ,to Istanbul.

If you stay in just one bed and breakfast in the World this year, make it the Peace and Plenty Inn in the charming seaside town of Davenport,New Zealand
and be sure to take a beach walk with Stanley.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend the last 2 nights of our trip to New Zealand! A stay at the 'Peace and Plenty' is a unique experience! The son of the house, Grant, gave us a warm welcome. We immediately felt at home there! Our room, the 'Albert Room' was decorated with incredibly good taste (as was the rest of the house!) and eye for detail. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic. It had a claw foot bath and the best shower in New Zealand!
Breakfast at the 'Peace and Plenty' is another unforgettable experience. Being Belgian, we had to taste the Belgian waffles for breakfast, and they were delicious! Judith certainly knows how to make her guests feel comfortable and welcome. The big table in the breakfast room invites you to sit with the other guests and chat with them. That's all part of the 'Peace and Plenty' experience. We would have liked our stay there a bit longer, as we didn't get to do all we wanted. We'll have to return for a walk on the beach with Stanley the dog!

Our stay at the peace & Plenty Bed & Breakfast in Devonport was such a joy from start to finish, we stayed for six nights and our host Judy made us feel so welcome and was a mind of information when it came down to places to visit and how to get there and what we could fit in throughout the day as we had two children she seemed to know what would suit there interests as well as our own.
The breakfasts were a feast of fresh homemade yogurts and muesli, fresh fruits, croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice all this followed by a cooked breakfast which varied from bacon, eggs to your liking, belgian waffles, the choice was superb and certainly set you up for the day.
Our room was a victorian splendour delicatly decorated with some of Judys own art work.
The gardens reminded me of a traditional english garden with the beautifull smells of lavender as you walked through the front gate and colours that mixed so beautifully together, obviously another one of Judys talents.
I had a wonderfull relaxing time and would certainly recomend our friends and family to take a break here it was magical.

The Peace and Plenty Inn was simply a joy to stay in. It is located right beside the shops in Devonport, and is also a very short walk to the ferry into Auckland city. The rooms are gorgeous, and have obviously been put together with a great deal of care. The extra touches are what made the room very special - chocolates and a lavender bag on the pillow, gormet biscuits beside the coffee, and sherry and port above the fireplace. Judy also makes a mean breakfast - cereal, yoghurt, fruit, crossoints, plus a choice of hot breakfasts such as belgium waffles and devonport eggs. I find it hard to imagine that anybody could be dissappointed staying in such a perfect place. If you are even considering staying in a hotel - don't!

I truly enjoyed my recent stay at the Peace and Plenty Inn. The hostess provided excellent customer service. The rooms were clean and beatifully decorated. The location was ideal as the inn overlooks the harbor. Devonport is an adorable village filled with shops and cafes. I enjoyed the peacefulness of the village. The short and comfortable ferry ride into the city made my vacation stress-free. I would highly recommend this inn to both couples and business travelers.
