Paid SGD 89.11 (USD 72.97) for one night in December 2012.
For that price and for one night the Albion was about bearable. We chose it as it just across the road from the bus depot where you can grab buses to Rotorua etc. We could have stayed in the SkyCity which is still within walking distance but I thought we should save some money.
We walked into the bar of the premises as unknown to us, you actually have to go in a small side door and walk to 2nd floor to get to reception. The man behind the bar walked us up there and showed us our room. He was nice but lacked a bit of social etiquette. The bar is also an interesting looking place. Checking out the next morning reception wasn't open so went down to barman, he pointed over to another man reading a paper "checkout with him". So this dude comes around the counter, takes the keys, and says goodbye. I think the other guy could have done that!
The room was on top floor. The floor smelled of fried food. Our door was right beside door to the floor so was a bit weird. Bathroom has seen better days but overall the room was just ok. No aircon so was stifling hot.
I wouldn't bother with Albion again, but if you're looking to save a few dollars and are catching an early bus the next morning, go for it. It will do the job.
