“Great way to discover Auckland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2014

I first heard about zest tours when I moved to Wellington 4 years ago, and have been keen to try them out. I've only hesitated as I wasn't sure if I'd feel they were good value for money. I've since moved to Auckland and when a deal came up on GrabOne I thought it was the perfect time to try the tours out. Even though my partner and I have lived in Auckland for 2 years, we don't spend a lot of time in the city, so we thought it would be a great chance to discover some great places in the centre of Auckland.
Kerry was a fantastic guide and we were lucky to have gorgeous weather and the tour to ourselves. We had a wonderful morning walking around and tasting some of the delights Auckland has to offer. I was amazed at how different the city felt just by walking a few blocks off the main street. We started off with coffee and pastries at a great little cafe just off the main street (but you'd never know it was there without local knowledge!) then we had icecream, chocolates and a seafood platter with wine at the end.
It was such a great way to get to know the city that my partner and I are now looking up food tours for our next holiday overseas.
Overall, it probably is on the pricey side, but it makes a wonderful morning out with some great ideas of where to eat if you are going to be in Auckland for a couple of days. With the deal I got, I felt we had a fantastic experience at a good price, but for anyone new to the city, I would say it is well worth doing.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts on our Auckland City Tastes tour and so glad to hear you found it helpful to catch up on the new food spots and hidden local gems. We like to think our guests have discovered places they would not normally find and often hear it was helpful in getting their bearings around town for the rest of their stay.

“Fabulous Walking Tour for Foodies.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014

Kerry, our tour guide, provided a relaxed and informative introduction to Ponsonby, its culture, history and culinary highlights. A great introduction to Auckland, some locals were on the tour also however. Anyone who enjoys finding the best coffee, chocolates, and places to eat, will love this tour! Just remember not to eat breakfast beforehand.

Thanks so much for sending us your comments and happy to hear you enjoyed our Auckland City Tastes tour. It always makes for an interesting tour when our group is a mix of locals and visitors, when we get to see how our neighbourhood is seen through others eyes it makes us realise how lucky we are.

“Great way to spend a morning”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 December 2013

Our guide Keri was cordial and friendly, and obviously known by the merchants and knew the places we visited. She gave us a good background on Ponsonby, Auckland, and New Zealand. We recommend that newcomers use this as a starting tour to get to know the area. Really enjoyed the chocolates and the new Central Market with eateries, produce, cheese, and more.

Had a great morning with Kerry. Finding out some history of the area and visiting some great shops, cafes and a lovely lunch to add to the informative yet relaxing tour. Excellent for locals and visitors alike the cheese store at Ponsonby Central was great - everything was great chocolate, pizza, Milly's... the list goes on.
