From the outside, this home does not look much. Or so I thought.

Upon entry, one will immediately see how well thought out this home by the owners was. The owners were not only wealthy but were sophisticated and tapped the best in Philippine craftsmanship having hired the best from Pampanga and Paete. They were brought all the way to Negros...in the 1880s. Wide and long narra and kamagong wood were used for their floors. A rarity in today's homes.

I noticed also how some of the Filipino traits today existed even in the 1880s. For example, how the family uses the more expensive and best cutlery and china "pambisita" ... when there were special guests from out of town. Also, how the better food and beverages were served for the the more important guests. And also Feng shui were already known and practiced in the Philippines by some families. And many more.

I could not help relate Jose Rizal's Noli Mi Tangere to this house. One must visit this home.

The guide, Reggie was very good in narrating stories of the family.
