“Perfect chocolate box cottage”
Reviewed 19 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have just returned from our four night stay at the Old Farrowings. Words escape us when we try to portray just how lovely and pictures this cottage is. You would be very hard pushed to find a cleaner, cosier cottage in the UK!

The Old Farrowings provided everything we needed and more; well equipped kitchen, beautifully furnished and most importantly wifi! If you're looking for a romantic getaway or an active exploring break this cottage will go above and beyond your needs. Jane was very welcoming and friendly, just an overall delight, which added to the homely feel of the place.

We shan't bore you with any more of our waffle but we could sing this place's praises until the cows come home! We really recommend you experience this place for yourselves.

I am really pleased you chose you come and stay with us on your way to the Lake District and glad you had a nice few days.
Even in the summer the wood-burning stove can make the cottage so cosy and I'm glad you made use of it.
It was nice to meet you both and do come back in the future,
Jane

“Rural Idyll”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed at The Old Farrowings for a week at the end of July. If you want to get away from everything, and don't mind the odd moo from the neighbouring fields, then this place is for you. We were particularly impressed with the well-stocked kitchen, which had all the essentials that can easily be forgotten - washing-up liquid, kitchen roll, olive oil, etc.

During our stay we made good friends with Otto, who is probably the nicest black lab you could meet (friendly, but not in your face with it), as well as Pegs the chicken (although with hindsight, the bucket labelled "Pegs" could have been for clothes pegs, not chicken feed). The three ducks are a little more self-absorbed, but entertaining nonetheless!

Biggin itself is perfectly located for access to the Southern half of the Peak District - we had short trips out to Buxton, Matlock, Eyam, Castleton, Cromford, Chatsworth, Bakewell, as well as local walking and cycling in Dovedale, and along the Manifold and Tissington trails.

We had a fantastic week and would definitely recommend this holiday to any couple.

Really pleased you had a nice time and glad you managed to make use of the Tissington Trail. We are lucky it is so near! Glad the Indian Runners ducks amused you - I could do with them laying a few more eggs!
Thanks for the review.
