Stayed here for two nights in early January. Absolutely brilliant location in great walking country. Couldn't wait to get out in the mornings; and looked forward to returning to our cosy, warm and beautifully renovated home-from-home each day. The owner lives next door and was happy to help with any queries. Highly recommended.
The building itself is full of character and charm and if you have a look around the back the gardens are beautiful too. Best of all, is the walk down to the river Dove. The landscape and wildlife down there is so beautiful and really not that busy with tourists considering.
For those who prefer the greenery of the countryside to the city life, this is the ideal location. My boyfriend and I throughly enjoyed walking along all the country paths, and hired bikes at the Tissington trail which is a cycle I would definately recommend. Luckily the weather was on our side and on the whole had a lovely couple of days
We were welcomed warmly by the owners, nothing was to much trouble, very cosy living area with kitchen that has all you need for a comfy stay, beds very good and lots of walks to explore. I recommend the Pack Horse for a hearty meal. We will be going back in the summer can't wait.
Had a very relaxing time here. Excellent facilities, all the home comforts. Lots to do all year round. The hosts were very friendly. . Such a cosy place, Kitchen had everything you needed. Beds were sumptious. We are going in the summer but will stay longer if possible. Loved the shower, easy for parking too. Nothing too much trouble. Thank you Jan and family. P.S . The sky at night is not to be missed as are the many walks.Only took just over an hour from Birmingam by car.
A lovely place for you to get away from the chores of daily life. Beautiful scenery around you and a comfortable, cosy, homely place to stay. You couldn't choose a better countryside location to stay. My friends and I had an amazing time and were able to spend a lot of quality time together. The barn is modern and just been refurbished. I would highly recommend this for a week/weekend get away. I will be returning for another trip to Biggin next summer.
what a fabulous place to stay. great for walking and bike riding. I came with my familiy and we walked to the river and around the lanes. Biggin dale and the dove dale. you can unwind and relax and enjoy the peak district, retreat to the country and get away from the big smoke like we did.
I will definately come back and explore more of beautiful derbyshire. there are still things to be done in the barn and its a work in progress, will be keen to see it develop and become the best priced place in the area.
